What to do if you can’t transfer your Beat Saber DLC music packs to PS VR2 version

If you bought the DLC music packs for the PlayStation VR1 version of Beat Saber, then you will be able to transfer these songs to the PlayStation VR2 version of the same game without having to pay anything extra.

When trying to download these tracks, you may notice that the PlayStation Store is saying that you have to pay from them again. To see how you can fix these transfer issues, you can take a look at this troubleshooting guide from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, you should make sure that you are logged into the same PlayStation Network account that you used to purchase the DLC music packs for the PS VR1 version. This is because your purchases are tied to purchasing account.

If you are using another account, then you need to switch to the PSN username that was used to previously purchased the DLC. Once you do, visit the product page for the DLC song or music pack on the PlayStation Store to see if they will let you download it for free.

If you can get the DLC packs without having to pay and you would like to play them with a different PSN username, go to the Settings of your PS5 console and then select Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play and then make sure you turn on Console Sharing if you haven’t done so already. Afterwards, you can switch to a different PlayStation Network account.

2. If you are using the same PSN username that you previously used to buy the Beat Saber DLC for the PS VR1 version but still can’t transfer the downloadable content to the PS VR2 version, then you can try restoring your license.

In order to do so, go to the Settings menu of your PlayStation 5 and then navigate over to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses. Select Restore to repair your game licenses for your PSN account.

3. If you are having problems downloading the music packs, then you can try downloading the individual songs instead to see if you are able to do so without having to pay again.

4. If your problem is related to the Panic! At The Disco Music Pack or Imagine Dragons Music Pack, then it may be due to these bundles getting updated with new songs after their launch date.

In these cases, you have to download each of these songs individually. Keep in mind that you can only download the music tracks that you have to pay for; so, you will need to pay if you want songs that were later added into the bundle.

Alternatively, you can pay an upgrade fee to get all of the songs for the music pack for the PlayStation 4 version of Beat Saber. Afterwards, you can then be able to transfer the entire bundle to the PS5 version.

For the uninformed, the following songs were added to these packs after the initial launch:

Beat Saber Panic! At The Disco Music Pack:

  • Crazy = Genius
  • Dancing’s Not A Crime
  • Hey Look Ma, I Made It
  • Say Amen (Saturday Night)
  • Sugar Soaker
  • Viva Las Vengeance

Beat Saber Imagine Dragons Music Pack:

  • Bones
  • Enemy

Can you transfer save file and trophy progress to PS VR2 version of Beat Saber?

Beat Saber is now available for the PlayStation VR2. If you haven’t heard already, you can upgrade from the PlayStation VR1 version of the game (if you previously brought it) to the PS VR2 version for free. Furthermore, you should also be able to transfer any DLC you previously bought for the PS VR1 release at no additional costs.

So, can you also transfer your save file and/or trophy progress? You can find out in this article from Seeking Tech.

Can you transfer your save data from the PSVR1 version to the PSVR2 version of Beat Saber?

Unfortunately, you aren’t able to transfer your save file from the PlayStation VR1 version of this game to the new PlayStation VR2 iteration. A member of the development has confirmed this to be case on the official Beat Saber Twitter page:

Transfer of the progress from PS VR/PS4 to PS VR2/PS5 is not possible, unfortunately.

As a result, you won’t be able to see your high scores, resume your campaign progress and more.

Can you transfer your trophy progress from the PS VR1 version to the PSVR 2 version?

You won’t be able to transfer your trophy progress from the PlayStation VR1 version to the PlayStation VR2 release of Beat Saber despite the trophy list being identical for the two iterations.

Instead, you have to start your progress all over again instead of having trophies automatically pop-up when you boot up the PlayStation VR2 release.

How to transfer Beat Saber DLC music packs from PS VR1 to PS VR2

Beat Saber is now available for the PlayStation VR2. If you already purchased the game for PlayStation VR1, then you can download the upgrade for free on the PS VR2. You can even download the DLC music packs you previously purchased for the PS VR1 version to the new release at no additional costs.

To find out how you can transfer the downloadable content for this virtual reality music game, you can take a look at this tutorial from Seeking Tech.

It is important to note that your DLC won’t be transferred automatically to the PlayStation VR2 version of Beat Saber. This is true even if you have the PS VR1 version of the game installed on the same PlayStation 5 console. Instead, you have to manually re-download the songs.

1. In order to transfer the DLC music packs, your first step is to make sure you are logged into the same PlayStation Network account that you used to purchase the songs.

2. Next, go to the home screen of your PS5 if you aren’t there already.

You can do so quickly by simply pressing and holding the PS button of the DualSense, Left PlayStation VR2 Sense Controller or Right PlayStation VR2 Sense Controller.

3. In the home screen, move the cursor over to the PS5 version of Beat Saber and then move navigate downwards.

4. At the bottom, you should see the Add-Ons section for Beat Saber on PS5. To see the full list of DLC songs for this game, move the cursor all the way to the right and then select the “View All Add-Ons” option.

5. Any of the DLC songs you previously purchased should show up as free. Select the song that you want to download.

6. On the product page for the Beat Saber DLC song, you then need to select the Download option.

7. Once the music pack has been downloaded, you should be able to find it unlocked when playing the PlayStation VR2 version of Beat Saber.

How to upgrade to the PS VR2 version of Beat Saber for free

You are able to upgrade to the PlayStation VR2 version of Beat Saber at no additional costs if you already own the PlayStation VR1 version of the same game. To find out how you can properly do so, you can take a look at this tutorial from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, you need to turn on your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console if you haven’t done so already.

2. Next, you need to make sure you are signed into the same PlayStation Network account you used to purchase the PlayStation VR1 version of Beat Saber.

3. Afterwards, you should head over to the product page of Beat Saber. There are two ways you can do so.

If you have the PS4 version of the game installed, then you need to move the cursor to its icon on the home screen menu of your PS5 console. Once you do, move the cursor down and then select the “…” option. In the pop-up window, you need to select View Product.

If the PS4 version isn’t installed, then you can select the PlayStation Store App from the home screen. In the PlayStation Store, use the search function to look for Beat Saber. Select the game from the search results page to head into the product page.

4. On the product page, you should see the Download option. If you don’t see it, select the “…” option and then select a different version of the game to see if you can get the Download option to show up.

5. If the aforementioned steps did not work with upgrading Beat Saber to the PS VR2 for free, then you can try doing the following:

  • Select the Game Library option from the home screen menu.
  • Next, press the R1 button to switch to the Your Collection tab from the Game Library screen.
  • You should then be able to find and select Beat Saber.
  • You may be asked to select which version you want to view. Make sure you select the PS5/PSVR2 version.

  • Once you get to the product page, you should then be able to select the Download option from there.

How to fix Beat Saber PS VR2 control issues

When playing Beat Saber on the PlayStation VR2, you may notice that the controls feel a little bit off. This is especially true if you play this music rhythm game on the PlayStation VR1 or another virtual reality headset.

To see how you can potentially fix this issue, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, you should make sure that you have the latest patch installed for Beat Saber. To update this game manually, you need to take the following steps:

  • Turn on your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console and then make sure it is connected to the internet.
  • In the home screen menu, move the cursor over to Beat Saber game icon and then press the Options button on the DualSense or Right PlayStation VR2 Sense Controller.
  • In the pop-up window, you can then select the Check for Update option.

At launch, a developer from Beat Games has acknowledge that there are issues with the default positioning of the sabers as well as the frame rate. The development team is working on a fix for these problems.

You can find the statement from Reddit below:

Hey PlayStation 5 players, with our latest update, some of you are reporting issues with the default position of sabers and frame drops in one of the songs in the Panic! At The Disco Music Pack.

We are working on solving the issue and we will release a hotfix early next week. Thank you for the feedback and support!

Hopefully, the new patch will also include an option where you can change the tilt, angle and/or position of your sabers.

2. If the controls still feel a little bit off after the patch update, then we recommend that you simply try getting used to it.

It is important to note that the PlayStation VR2 uses inside-out tracking as the cameras located directly on the virtual reality headset. On the other hand, the PlayStation VR1 uses an external camera to read the positioning of the headset and the PlayStation Move controllers. As a result, the tracking of your sabers won’t be the exact same.

Not to mention that the PlayStation VR Sense Controllers feel different to hold when compared to the PlayStation Move controllers.

Due to the variations of other virtual reality headsets, the controls may feel off as well initially if you play Beat Saber with the PS VR2 due to your muscle memory not lining up with the sabers.

By playing through the new version of the game, however, you should be able to get your rhythm back eventually.

How to play Pistol Whip while seated on PlayStation VR2

You are able to play Pistol Whip while sitting down with your PlayStation VR2. To find out how to do so, you can take a look at this tutorial from Seeking Tech.

1. It is important to note that you can only change the play style for Pistol Whip when you boot up the game. You won’t be able to change to the seated position even if you close the game and then try to re-open it.

Instead, you have to restart your PS5. To do so, press the PS button and then select the Power option located at the bottom-side menu. Finally select the Restart PS5 option from the pop-up window.

2. Next, you need to put on the PS VR2 headset and then turn on the left and right PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers.

3. Once you have the virtual reality components set up, open Pistol Whip.

4. After scanning your room, the game will ask you to set your play area. Make sure you select the Stay Seated option.

5. You should now be able to play Pistol Whip while seated.

6. Keep in mind that you have to move your head around when playing this action rhythm game as you need to avoid bullets and obstacles. Therefore, you should make sure that you have enough room to maneuver your head and arms around.

7. Inside of the game, you can also adjust the height of your character.

To do so, you need to head to the Settings menu to find the Adjust Height slider.

8. If you manage to unlock styles in Pistol Whip, then you can also enable some mods in the game that will make playing the game while seated easier.

In order to do so, look to your left to find the Styles menu before you start a level in Arcade Mode. From there, you can turn on the following:

  • Bulletproof
  • Bottomless
  • Unobstructed
  • Low Velocity

Bulletproof will make you invincible, which means that you don’t have to restart the entire stage if you managed to die. Bottomless will make it so that you never have to reload. Unobstructed will remove any obstacles so that you don’t have to move your head too much. Love Velocity means that the bullets will arrive at slower speed, giving you more time to move your head.

There are other modifications that you may want to enable from the Styles menu as well.

Do you keep PlayStation Plus Premium games?

With PlayStation Plus Premium, you gain access to hundreds of video games. So, can you keep the titles that you get from this subscription service? You can find out in this article from Seeking Tech.

Before we begin, it is important to note that the PlayStation Plus Premium games are categorized into separate catalogs. Each of these categories has its own licensing rules.

Monthly Games Catalog

The monthly games catalog composes of a handful of titles that you can redeem and download if you are subscribe to the Essential, Extra, Deluxe or Premium tier of PlayStation Plus.

If you managed to redeem monthly games before they are removed from the catalog, then you are able to keep playing them as long as you remain subscribed to any of the aforementioned PS+ plans.

If you unsubscribed, then you will lose access to these titles unless you renew your membership again.

The PlayStation Plus Collection

For the first couple of years in the PlayStation 5 lifespan, Sony gave out 20 PS4 games that can only be downloaded from the PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition console. This Essential, Extra, Deluxe and Premium benefit has been removed on May 9, 2023.

This collection works the same way as monthly games. If you managed to redeem these games before they were removed from the service, then you can keep playing them as long as you stay a member to any of the PlayStation Plus plans.

Game Catalog

The Game Catalog gives you access to an additional set of games that can be downloaded and played on the PlayStation 4 and/or PlayStation 5.

These titles actually come with an expiration date. Before they expire, you should be able to keep playing them as long as you remain a member of PlayStation Plus Extra, Deluxe or Premium.

Once the expiration date arrives, however, you will lose access to these titles even if you stayed subscribed to the appropriate tier.

Classics Catalog

There are two types of subcategories in the Classics Catalog.

The first group together the PS1, PS2, PSP as well as games that have been remastered for the PS4/PS5. These games have expiration dates. Once one of the titles expires, you won’t be able to play then even if you stay subscribed to PlayStation Plus Deluxe or PlayStation Plus Premium.

The other group from the Classics Catalog is PS3 games, which is exclusive to the Premium plan. These titles can only be streamed. You can still play them as long as you remain a member to the highest PlayStation Plus tier as long as the expiration date hasn’t been reached.

How to avoid motion sickness while playing Pistol Whip on PlayStation VR2

While Pistol Whip is fairly safe when it comes to motion sickness, you may still feel a little nauseous while playing this rhythm-based action game with the PlayStation VR2. To see how you can potentially avoid nausea with this title, you can take a look at this guide from Seeking Tech.

1. Pistol Whip supports three different play styles as you can choose between sitting, standing or room scale.

We found that playing the game while standing works the best for us when it comes to avoiding motion sickness. This is because you will be dodging incoming bullets as well as obstacles; so, playing while seated can trigger your nausea as you will be somewhat limited in your movement.

Room scale can also cause problems as you are already in constant motion in the game. If you try to move in real life as well, then you may experience sever sickness.

Therefore, you should stand as still as possible while playing Pistol Whip with the PS VR2.

2. There are several style and settings that you can also use to make playing the levels more comfortable. In order to do so, make sure you play some levels in the Arcade Mode to unlock the Styles menu.

The next time you play a stage in the same mode look to the left before you select the Start option. You should see the Styles menu. From there, we recommend that you enable Bulletproof, Unobstructed and Low Velocity.

Bulletproof will make you invincible, which should prevent any game overs that cause the action to suddenly stop.

Unobstructed will prevent any obstacles from appearing in the path. Normally, these force you to move to the sides or bend down.

Low Velocity makes the bullet fly to you at a slower speed, giving you more time to carefully move your head around.

3. If possible, try to have a fan blow directly to your face while playing Pistol Whip. This should help your body feel like it is moving along with the stage.

4. You can also try chewing some gum or eating some ginger as these should help ward off your nausea.

5. Of course, you should make sure that you stay hydrated; otherwise, you are more likely to get motion sick if you don’t have enough water.

6. It is also very important that you stop as soon as possible if you start feeling nauseous. You should then avoid using the PlayStation VR2 again until you begin to feel normal.

If you try to push through while feeling sick, then you will only feel worse and will take a lot more time to recover.

Over time, you should be able to build up your tolerance while playing Pistol Whip as you should get more accommodate with the motions in the game. Eventually, you should be able to play it for long sessions without experiencing any nausea.
