How to fix the Koboh elevator glitch in Star Wars Jedi Survivor

When playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you may end up falling through an elevator. If you try to take the same lift again, you will notice that the top is completely sealed, making it impossible to progress through this area and continue on with the campaign.

To see how you can fix this elevator glitch in this action-adventure title, you can check out this troubleshooting guide from Seeking Tech.

This soft-locking bug occurs in the Align Arrays at Koboh Control Center mission at the Alignment Control Center on Koboh. As we previously stated, your character may fall through the floor when you are riding a lift upwards.

When you respawn and take the same elevator again, you will find the top closed. Once the elevator reaches that point, your character will clip through the floor and fall down again. Even if you managed to clip your way through the seal, you may find that none of the objects in the new room can be interacted with.

You can find a video clip of this soft lock below (via the kuku kachew YouTube channel):

How to fix

According to a member of the development team, the elevator glitch should be fixed with the next patch update. You can find an explanation as to how the glitch occurred below (via the EA Answers HQ website):

Hello all, a fix has been submitted to stop the player from falling through again – should be in the next patch. I’m really sorry about this, it is a complicated setup with several dynamics attached to each other and there were several bugs involving it that were fixed that were also causing issues. It looks like this is caused by a single flag on the hatch doors for the central elevator that was missed. Next patch should have a fix to stop the player from being able to fall through the elevator so it doesn’t happen again.

And for those of you that did fall through and are stuck, the hatch doors at the top of the elevator should be open to allow you to take the elevator into the control center, and interact with the console to trigger the cinematic to progress the game.

Again really sorry about this – thank you

Once the new patch has gone live, you should make sure you download it on your PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X before you start up Star Wars Jedi Survivor.

How to fix the Jedha glitch in Star Wars Jedi Survivor

You may end up getting stuck in Jedha during the Defend the Hangar mission when playing Star Wars Jedi Survivor. To see how you can potentially fix this issue, you can take a look at this article from Seeking Tech.

Why the bug occurs

Before we start detailing this bug, it is important to note that there could be some story spoilers if you haven’t made it this far through the campaign. So, you should proceed with caution if you have not started the Defend the Hangar mission in the Jedha planet yet.

The glitch occurs when you take control as Cere. If you managed to fall off the map, you would respawn in a room with a locked gate, inoperable elevator and meditation circle. In this room, you will be stuck with nowhere to go as you won’t get past the gate or summon the lift.

While you can try jumping down the elevator shaft, you will suffer from fall damage and respawn back in the very same room.

You can find a video of the soft-locking bug in the Star Wars Jedi Survivor game below (via the Elijah Salem YouTube channel):

How to fix

The only way to get rid of this glitch is to wait until the development team from Respawn Entertainment fixes the issue.

According to a community manager from Electronic Arts, the soft lock has been forwarded to the necessary personnel. You can find the statement below (via the EA Answers HQ website):

  • “The issue has been forwarded to the teams for further investigation.”

A new patch for Star Wars Jedi Survivor should be announced through the official EA Star Wars Twitter page. If the patch notes states that this new version of the action-adventure game fixes the Jedha soft lock, then make sure you download the title update on your PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X.

Once you updated the game, you should be able to progress past the locked room.

If you don’t want to wait that long for a new patch to fix this bug, then you can try starting a new journey. To speed up the replay progress, you can play at the easiest difficulty setting and skip the cut scenes. Once you play as Cere in the Defend the Hangar mission, make sure you don’t fall off the ledge again in order to avoid the glitch.

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 settings for Redfall

You can enhance your experience with Redfall by using the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. To find the best settings for this first-person shooter, you can take a look at this article from Seeking Tech.

P1, P2, P3 and P4 Button Assignments

When you are using a gamepad, the default controller layout should be the following in Redfall:

  • Left Analog Stick: Move
  • Left Analog Stick Button: Spring
  • Right Analog Stick: Look or Aim
  • Left Analog Stick Button: Melee Attack
  • A: Jump or Climb
  • B: Crotch or Slide
  • X: Reload or Interact
  • Y: Cycle Weapons
  • Up Directional Button: Push to Talk
  • Down Directional Button: Heal
  • Left Directional Button: Ping
  • Right Directional Button: Flashlight
  • LB: Use Skill #1
  • LT: Aim Down Sights
  • RB: Use Skill #2
  • RT: Shoot Weapon
  • LB and RB Buttons: Use Ultimate Skill
  • View Button
  • Menu Button

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 features four back buttons that you can utilize in order to improve your performance for this title.

We recommend assigning the Left Analog Stick Button to the P4 Paddle so that you can sprint without having to press down on the left analog. As a result, you should move more accurately when running.

You should also assign the Right Analog Stick Button to the P2 Paddle so that you can avoid having to awkwardly press down on the right analog to initiate a melee attack.

You can assign the remaining two paddles to any other buttons. We personally use the other two for healing and turning on the flashlight as doing so will let us keep our left thumb on the left analog stick.

For further customization options, you can use the Buttons Mappings section of the Controller menu in Redfall.

Trigger Locks

If you want the ADS and firing triggers to be super responsive, then you should move the trigger sliders located on the back side of your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 all the way down.

You can also use Triggers section of the controller’s settings menu to adjust the deadzones of the LT and RT buttons.

Stick Deadzones

While you currently can’t adjust the deadzones of the left and right analog stick by using the in-game menus in Redfall, you can do so by using the Left Stick and Right Stick menus if you look through the settings of your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2.

We recommend that you play around with different settings, especially when aiming with your weapons by using the right analog, until it feels responsive and natural.

How to fix Star Wars Jedi Survivor Rayvis fight bug

When fighting Rayvis in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you may notice that you aren’t able to defeat him after depleting his life bar. To see how you can potentially fix this soft-locking bug, you can take a look at this troubleshooting guide from Seeking Tech.

Why the Rayvis glitch occurs

Based on our own experience, as well as reports from players, this glitch is activated if you managed to beat the second form of Rayvis but died at the same time. As a result, you will see a cut scene start to play before getting a game over screen asking you to respawn from the last save point.

When you respawn and fight Rayvis again, you won’t be able to beat him in his second form even if you completely depleted his health bar. Thus, this soft lock will leave you stuck at this point in the campaign with no way of progressing further.

You can find videos of the glitch being activated and the resulting soft lock below (via the Maro YouTube channel):

How to fix

The only way to fix this bug is to wait until Jedi Survivor gets a patch that addresses this issue. The good news is that the development team at Respawn Entertainment has acknowledged the glitch and is working on a solution. You can find the comments from a representative of the company below (via the EA Answers HQ website):

  • “Thanks for all the info and videos here. Working on a fix for this now so that you can still progress if this happens.”

Therefore, make sure you check if there is a new title update available for the game on your PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X.

We also recommend keeping an eye on the official EA Star Wars Twitter page to see when a new patch will be arriving for Jedi Survivor on your platform.

If you don’t want to wait that long for the patch, then you can try starting a new save file and then play through the game again until you get to the Rayvis boss fight. You should be able to progress a lot quicker by playing at an easier difficulty and skipping cut scenes.

Once you get to the problematic boss fight, you should make sure that you don’t die at the same time you deliver the killing blow during the second phase.

How to fix Redfall brightness issues

Redfall is an open world first-person shooting game that features a day night cycle. If you find that the game is too bright during the day and/or too dark at nighttime when exploring the vampire-filled town, then you can take a look at this troubleshooting guide from Seeking Tech to see how you can fix its brightness output issues.

1. If you are playing the game with HDR enabled, then you should make sure that your television screen or monitor is properly calibrated with your PC or Xbox.

On the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles, for instance, you can open the Settings menu from the dashboard or guide menu and then select General > TV & display options > Calibrate HDR for games. You should then follow the directions shown over the next several screens.

2. Of course, you can also use the in-game menu of Redfall to adjust the brightness and contrast levels. You can do so by taking the following steps:

  • First off, you should go to the Settings menu inside of the game. You can do so by pressing the Menu button on the controller in the main menu before you load into your save file. Afterwards, head into Settings from the System menu.
  • If you already loaded into your save, then you can press the Menu button during gameplay to bring up the pause screen. From there, use the LB and RB buttons to change tabs until you get to Settings.
  • From the Settings menu, you need to select Video.
  • In the Video section, select the Adjust option on the Calibrate Display row.
  • Inside of the Calibrate Display menu, you will be able to adjust the HDR Brightness and HDR Contrast sliders. By default, both of these have a value of 0. You are able to change them, in increments of 1, from a range of –50 to +50.

Depending on some of the areas in your game, as well we your ambient room lighting, you may need to return to the Calibrate Display menu often in order to re-adjust the in-game brightness and contrast levels.

3. If you are still experiencing brightness issues, then you can try playing Redfall on a different screen. Some TVs and monitors are better than others when it comes to outputting accurate HDR. If you can’t change the screen, then you can try adjusting the brightness and contrast using the setting menus of your TV or monitor.

How to fix failed to host lobby error in Redfall

If you are trying to host a game, you may end up seeing the following error message:

  • “Failed to host lobby. Unknown error.”

To see how you can fix this hosting problem, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, we recommend checking the server status of this online cooperative game. You can do so from the official Bethesda website.

If there appears to be an issue with the servers, then you won’t be able to play Redfall until the problem gets fixed on the other end.

2. If the servers are fully operational, then the next step you can take is to see if there is a new patch available to download and install for Redfall.

For the Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, you can manually update the game by moving the cursor over to its icon from either the Xbox Guide quick menu or the home screen of the dashboard. Afterwards, press the Menu button on the Xbox controller and then select “Manage game and add-ons. Lastly, you need to select Updates from the Manage – Redfall menu.

3. You should also make sure that your network settings are compatible with this game.

If you are playing on the Series X or Series S, then you can open the Settings menu of the console and then head over to General > Network settings > Test multiplayer connection. If there is a problem with how your internet is set up, then the console will provide some directions that you can follow to fix it.

4. If you are still getting the hosting failed to host lobby error, then you can try restarting Redfall. To do so on console, press the Xbox button on the controller, move the cursor over to the game’s icon, press the Menu button and then select Quit.

Once you close the software, open it again and then see if you are able to host an online lobby.

5. A power cycle of your networking hardware may also help. You can perform this action by taking the following steps:

  • Turn off your PC or Xbox.
  • You should also turn off your modem, router and other networking equipment.
  • Wait for at least 2 minutes.
  • You then need to turn back on your modem, router and other networking equipment.
  • Wait for your internet service to go back online.
  • Turn on your PC or Xbox.
  • Boot up Redfall and then try to host a game.

How to prevent motion sickness when playing Redfall

You may start to feel a little nauseous when playing Redfall. To see how you can potentially make this motion sickness go away for this specific title, you can take a look at this guide from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, we recommend that you head over to the Settings menu in Redfall and then select Accessibility.

From there, scroll down and move the cursor to Accessibility Reticle, which should show the following description:

  • “If enabled, a reticle will be displayed at all times.”

We suggest enabling this feature as doing so will add a small white dot in the middle of the screen. This may help your eyes stay focused and potentially offset any potential nausea.

2. The default field of view angle is pretty cramped as your weapons take up a lot of real estate on the screen. Not to mention that you have a limited view of your surrounds. So, in order to ward off any motion sickness, you can try increasing the FoV by taking the following steps:

  • To begin, you need to head over to the Settings menu in Redfall.
  • From the Settings menu, you need to select Video.
  • In the Video section, move the cursor to Field of View.
  • By default, the field of view for Redfall is set to 90 degrees. You will be able to adjust the slider, in increments of 1 degree, from a range of 60 degrees to 120 degrees.
  • We suggest that you play around with different FoV angles until you find one that doesn’t give you motion sickness. Keep in mind that increasing this setting to above 90 degrees have cause frame rate issues.

3. The motion blur can trigger your nausea. If you want to turn this feature off, then you need to go back to the Video section in the Settings menu. From there, you need to set the Motion Blur Scale setting to Off.

4. The camera movement in Redfall is unnaturally slow when you are trying to aim your weapon, especially if you are playing with a controller. As a result, the image you see on the screen is disassociated with the aiming movement on your mind, resulting in potential motion sickness.

To see how you can increase the aiming sensitivity, as well as reduce the input lag, in this first-person shooter, you can follow these directions.

5. You should try to play Redfall at the highest potential frame rate as the extra smoothness may help ward off your nausea.

At launch, this game is limited to running at a maximum of 30 frames per second on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. However, the development team at Arkane Studios has promised that the title will be getting a performance mode that targets 60 fps in the future.

Therefore, you should make sure that you have the latest version of the game. Once the high frame rate mode has been added through a patch, you should be able to find and then enable it in the Video section in the Settings menu.

Here, you need to select the “Yes, I’m Sure” option before the timer runs out. Otherwise, you need to repeat the aforementioned steps all over again.

What to do if the narrator isn’t turning off?

1. Go back to the Communication section of the Accessibility screen and make sure that the Screen Narration and Text-To-Speech are both disabled.

How to fix ‘Bethesda.net account is already linked’ error in Redfall

Before you can play Redfall, you need to log into your Bethesda account. Otherwise, you will be stuck in the title screen. When trying to do so, you may get the 40901 error code that shows the following message:

  • “This Bethesda.net account is already linked.”

To see how you can potentially fix this problem, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, we recommend that you check your linked accounts.

In order to do so, you need to visit the official Bethesda website from a web browser and then log into your Bethesda account. Afterwards, select your profile from the top right side of the screen and then Linked Accounts in the drop-down menu.

Linked Accounts page location on Bethesda.net.

If your Bethesda account is tied to a different Xbox Live or Steam account, then you need to switch over to that account on your Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S or Steam system before trying to play Redfall.

If you would like to change the Xbox Live or Steam account that is linked to the Bethesda account, then you need to submit a ticket from the official Bethesda website in order to get a customer service representative to unlink your existing external account first. Afterwards, you will be able to link your new Xbox Live or Steam account.

2. If the accounts are correctly linked but you still aren’t able to log in to Redfall without getting the 40901 error code, then you should make sure that your Bethesda account is verified.

In order to do so, go to the official Bethesda website and then select Log In / Sign Up. In the pop-up window, you need to select “Help find my account” and then enter the email address you used to sign up for your Bethesda account.

You should then get an email where you can click the Verify Account link.

3. If none of the aforementioned solutions have worked so far, then you can try creating a new Bethesda account by using a different email address to see if you are able to log in successfully and then play Redfall.

4. If you are still having issues, then we recommend that you submit a ticket on Bethesda.net to get a customer service representative to help you with your login problem.
