What happens if you cancel Ubisoft+ for Xbox?

Ubisoft+ is now available for the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One S and Xbox One consoles. By subscribing to Ubisoft+ Multi Access, you will be able to play Ubisoft games on your Xbox system as well as the PC and cloud streaming (via Amazon Luna).

So, what happens if you decide to change your subscription? You can find out in this article from Seeking Tech.

Remaining Subscription

If you decide to unsubscribe from Ubisoft+ in advance, then you can still take advantage of the subscription up until the last day of the current month that you already paid for.

By cancelling, your subscription won’t automatically renew in the next billing cycle.

Full Access to Games

Once your subscription runs out, you will no longer have full access to the games on the service. If you want to play these titles again, you will need to own them previously, buy them on your own or re-subscribe to Ubisoft+ Multi Access.

Full Access to DLC

Some of the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S games from the Ubisoft+ subscription are Gold, Deluxe or Ultimate Editions. These come with additional downloadable content.

If you cancel your membership, you will also lose access to these DLC (even if you own the base game) useless you purchase them previously, buy them on your own or re-sub.

Save Files

When it comes to save files, these data won’t be deleted from the cloud or local storage even if you are no longer subscribed to Ubisoft Plus. Therefore, you should be able to resume from where you left off as long as you purchase the same edition of the game or become a member to the subscription service again.

If you bought a different edition, then the save file may not work. In some cases, you may even end up corrupting the data and losing the file if you try to load incompatible data.

To find out more about how saves work with the Ubisoft+ service, you can check out this page from the official Ubisoft website.

How to prevent motion sickness when playing Ghostwire Tokyo

When playing Ghostwire Tokyo, you may start to feel nauseous. To see how you can prevent yourself from getting motion sick, you can take a look at the following tips in this Seeking Tech article.

1. For the first potential solution, you can try turning down the camera movement when you move the character in the game. Having less camera shake may alleviate your nausea.

To do so, you need to take the following steps:

  • To begin, open the Options menu. You can do so from either the main menu or pause menu. To pause the game on PlayStation 5, you can press the Options button. On the Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, you need to press the Menu button.
  • From the Options menu, you should already be in the Game tab. If you are in another tab, then you can use the L1 and R1 buttons on the PS5 or LB and RB buttons on Xbox to change tabs.
  • From the Game tab, move the cursor down to the Camera Bob Strength setting.
  • You can then use the directional pad or left analog stick to reduce the camera shake movement. By default, this setting has a value of 50. You will be able to reduce it all the way down to 0.

2. Playing Ghostwire Tokyo at a higher frame rate may also help prevent motion sickness.

To change graphics mode, head over to the Graphics tab in the Options menu. You should then be able to change Graphics Mode to Performance Mode.

If your screen supports 120 Hz refresh rate and/or Variable Refresh Rate, then we suggest changing the Graphics Mode to any of the following:

  • HFR Quality Mode
  • HFR Performance Mode
  • HFR Quality Mode (VSync)
  • HFR Performance Mode (VSync)

3. We also suggest turning off the film grain, chromatic aberration and motion blur effects as the extra blurriness added to the graphics may trigger your nausea.

You can follow these steps to see how you can disable these visual effects.

4. If the character isn’t moving or aiming as fast as you like, then it may lead to motion sickness.

In this case, we recommend heading over to the Controls tab in the Options menu. From there, you will be able to adjust the following settings in order to get movement to feel as natural as possible:

  • Left Stick Deadzone
  • Right Stick Deadzone
  • Camera Acceleration Speed
  • Camera Deceleration Speed
  • Camera X-Axis Sensitivity
  • Camera Y-Axis Sensitivity
  • Camera Sensitivity (Aiming)
  • Camera Sensitivity (Bow Drawn)

How to fix Ghostwire Tokyo HDR issues on Xbox Series X and S

When playing Ghostwire Tokyo on your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, you may notice that the game is either too dark, too bright or seems to be washed out. To see how you can fix these HDR issues for the first-person action-adventure game, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first potential fix, we recommend that you re-calibrate the HDR output of your console. In order to do so, you need to take the following steps:

  • Head over to the Settings menu of your Series X or Series S.
  • From there, select General > TV & display options > Calibrate HDR for games.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions in order to match the HDR brightness output of your console to the capabilities of your television set or gaming monitor.

2. Of course, you can also try adjusting the HDR brightness out from within Ghostwire Tokyo. In order to do so, you need to do the following:

  • Start by heading over to the Options menu.
  • Inside of Options, use the LB and RB buttons to change tabs until you get to Graphics.
  • From the Graphics tabs, select HDR – Open Settings.
  • In the HDR Settings menu, you will be able to change the Maximum Luminance from 1000 nits to 2000 nits.
  • You will also be able to adjust the luminance level of the user interface from a value of 0 all the way to 100.

3. If you still can’t get the game to look just right with HDR, then you can try using a different television set or gaming monitor. Some screens are better at displaying HDR games when compared to others.

4. If you aren’t able to change screens, then you can try playing Ghostwire Tokyo without HDR to see if it looks better. To do so, you need to take the following steps:

  • First off, you need to close the game if you haven’t done so already. To do so, press the Xbox logo button on the controller to open the Guide menu. From there, move the cursor over to the Ghostwire Tokyo icon and then press the Menu button on the controller. Finally, select the Quit option in the pop-up menu.
  • Next, you need to head over to the Settings menu of your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S.
  • From the front page of Settings, you need to select General > TV & display options > Video modes.
  • In the General – Video modes menu, make sure that the Allow HDR10, Auto HDR, Allow Dolby Vision and Dolby Vision for Gaming settings are deselected.
  • Afterwards, launch Ghostwire Tokyo again.
  • If the game still doesn’t look right, then you can head into the Graphics tab in the Options menu.
  • From there, select Brightness – Open Settings.

  • In the Brightness Settings menu, you can adjust the brightness output in SDR mode. You can change this value from a scale of 0 to 100.

How to fix Ghostwire Tokyo input lag issues on Xbox Series X and S

Ghostwire Tokyo was recently ported over to the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S console. If you are experiencing a lot of input lag when playing through this first-person action-adventure title, then you can check out this tutorial from Seeking Tech to see how you can reduce the latency.

1. For the first step, you can try using your Xbox controller in wired mode as it should lead to less of a delay when compared to a wireless connection.

In order to do so, you simply need to use a USB cable plug the gamepad into one of the available USB ports of your Series X or Series S console.

2. If you haven’t done so already, make sure that you are playing in Performance Mode. The Quality Mode in Ghostwire Tokyo limits the frame rate to just 30, which will result in a lot of input lag.

In order to change graphics modes, you first need to head over to the Options menu from either the title screen or pause screen. Afterwards, use the LB and RB buttons to switch tabs until you get to Graphics. You should be able to find the Graphics Modes setting from there.

3. If your television set or monitor supports variable refresh rate, then you should have it enabled on both the screen and your console.

On your Xbox, you need to go to the console’s Settings menu and then select General > TV & display options > Video modes and then make sure that the “Allow variable refresh rate” feature is selected. For your TV/monitor, you need to look into the instruction manual to see how you can activate this feature.

VRR should help reduce the input delay for Ghostwire Tokyo and other games.

4. If your TV or monitor is capable of 120 Hz refresh rate, then we recommend playing the game in any of the High Frame Rate modes as it will uncap the frame rate to a maximum of 120 fps. With the higher frame rate, the latency should also be lowered.

In order to do so, go back to the aforementioned Graphics Mode setting. Here, you can pick between any of the following:

  • High Frame Rate Quality Mode
  • High Frame Rate Performance Mode
  • High Frame Rate Quality Mode (VSync)
  • High Frame Rate Performance Mode (VSync)

Out of these, we recommend selecting High Frame Rate Performance Mode to get the most frames per second.

5. If you only notice input lag when moving the left and/or right analog stick, then you are able to adjust the dead zone and sensitivity for both in Ghostwire Tokyo.

To do so, head over to the Options menu in the game. From there, use the LB and RB buttons to navigate to the Controls tab. Afterwards, you should be able to adjust the following parameters:

  • Left Stick Deadzone
  • Right Stick Deadzone
  • Camera Acceleration Speed
  • Camera Deceleration Speed
  • Camera X-Axis Sensitivity
  • Camera Y-Axis Sensitivity
  • Camera Sensitivity (Aiming)
  • Camera Sensitivity (Bow Drawn)

If you have a hard time aiming in general, then you should make sure that you have the Aim Assist setting in the Controls tab of the Options menu set to Prioritize Aim Assist.

How to fix Ubisoft+ and Xbox account linking issues

When trying to link your Ubisoft+ account to your Xbox Live account, you can end up seeing the following error message:

  • “There was an error getting account details. Try again later.”

To see how you can fix this account linking issue, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

This problem is mostly related to the Ubisoft server. For the uninformed, the company recently launched Ubisoft+ Multi Access, a subscription service that grants you full access to Ubisoft titles on the Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.

As a result of the launch, the servers are getting overloaded. Therefore, you may end up seeing the “there was an error getting account details” error notification when you are trying to link the Ubisoft+ account to your Xbox Live account.

In our case, we are able to get the account link to go through on a second try a few minutes after our first failed attempt.

If you can’t get the accounts to link after trying over and over again, then you can try linking at a less busy period in the day.

If you are in the North American region, for instance, then you can try to go through the process when most everyone else is sleeping on a weekday, such as very late at night or early during the day. With less server load, you should be able to go through with the account linkage.

Of course, you can also wait until Ubisoft announces that the servers are fixed. You can check out the official social media channels such as the official Ubisoft Support Twitter page for any updates.

If you still can’t get the Ubisoft+ account to link up with your Xbox Live account, then we recommend contacting a Ubisoft support agent to see if they are able to manually connect the two accounts on their end.You can open a chat request from this page on the official Ubisoft website.

How to link Ubisoft+ account to Xbox

If you need to upgrade, then you need to head over to the My Account Page on the Ubisoft Store. From there, select Change Plan and then select Ubisoft+ Multi Access. Go through the checkout process to complete the upgrade.

3. In the Store App, move to the left side until the left edge menu appears.

4. From there, move the cursor to either Home or Games. Afterwards, you need to move right and then select Subscriptions.

5. From the Subscription section, scroll all the way down to the Gaming Subscriptions row and then select Ubisoft+.

6. In the product page of Ubisoft+, select the Join option.

7. You should get a screen saying that you need to log in or create an Ubisoft account.

Here, you can either use your phone to scan the QR code or manually input the URL shown on screen to a web browser on another device.

You can also use the built-in Microst Edge browser on your Xbox.

8. The aforementioned URL should bring you to the Link Your Accounts page. From there, you need to select Link Accounts.

9. If you haven’t done so already, you will need to log into your Ubisoft+ account.

10. After logging into the Ubisoft account, you will be asked to confirm the account link. Select the Complete Link option and you should see the following message:

  • “Success! Your accounts are now linked.”

Once you linked your Ubisoft account with your Xbox account, you should now have full access to the Ubisoft+ games on the Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S and/or Xbox Series X.

To see how you can find the full list of these titles on the subscription service from your console, you can take a look at this walkthrough.

Platforms

If you only have the standard Ubisoft+ membership, then you will be limited to playing PC games. The subscription service currently has well over 100 titles, which includes some indie releases to go along with games that were developed and published by the company.

For the Ubisoft+ Multi Access, you can also play the Amazon Luna and Xbox versions of these games. For the uninformed, Luna is a cloud gaming service that lets you stream games on compatible devices, which includes the following:

  • Windows PC
  • Mac
  • Web Browsers
  • Android 9 or 10 Devices
  • 2nd Generation and Newer Fire TV Stick
  • Fire TV Cube
  • 3rd Generation and Newer Fire TV
  • Toshiba Fire TV Edition

When it comes to Xbox, the Ubisoft+ Multi Access should work on the Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles. To see how you can find a list of games on this subscription service on your Xbox, you can check out this step-by-step tutorial.

Day One Releases

Future Ubisoft releases should appear as soon as they launch on the Ubisoft Plus and Ubisoft Plus Multi Access tier.

We found that this is the best reason to subscribe for either of these services as new games tend to cost $59.99 or $69.99 in the U.S. region. By subscribing for a month or two, you can end up saving a lot of money as opposed to outright buying a new title. Not to mention that you will also gain access to over 100 other Ubisoft games as well.

Virtual Currency Pack Discounts

A few Ubisoft games use virtual currency for microtransaction. By being a member of either Ubisoft+ or Ubisoft+ Multi Access, you will get a small 10% discount.

Monthly Rewards

If you stay subscribed in both of these tiers for consecutive months, then you will be able to unlock select rewards in eligible titles.

You will start off with the Bronze tier. If you stay subscribed into a second month, then you will be upgraded to the Silver tier. If you remain a member for four months, then you will level up to the Gold tier. The highest tier is Platinum, which is rewarded to subscribers who stay in the service for at least seven months.

In the Bronze tier, you will get one monthly reward. You will get double that amount if you are in the Silver tier. You will get three monthly rewards in the Gold tier and four monthly rewards if you reach Platinum.

Summary

The main difference between the Ubisoft+ and Ubisoft+ Multi Access membership tiers is the platform availability.

The cheaper Ubisoft+ limits you to only being able to access PC versions of games. With the slightly more expensive Ubisoft+ Multi Access, you will also gain access to the Amazon Luna cloud streaming versions as well as the Xbox versions.

So, if you have an Xbox One console, Xbox Series console and/or would like to play Ubisoft games without a PC, then you should get the Ubisoft+ Multi Access. If you are only planning to play these titles on a computer, then Ubisoft+ is the more affordable option.
