To get him to appear, you need to wager a Megalixir. You can get this rare item from a chest in Kefka’s Tower or by beating the Magic Master boss at the top of the Cultist’s Tower. You can also steal it from Flan Princess, Land Ray, Master Tonberry and Omega Weapon.

Using Sketch on Land Ray may result in another attack. In that case, you can try using Sketch again until you get the enemy to use Mighty Guard.

For the first part of the quest, you need to talk to the 24 soldiers within the Imperial Palace.

Start by talking to the 4 soldiers standing in the hallway of the first floor when you get out of the throne room. You can then exit to the south.

The next 3 are located in the courtyard. You will have to fight one of them.

Afterwards, head back inside and then go to the left door. You then need to climb the steps and then enter the door on the second floor.

You will find 6 soldiers in this bunker, including an easily missable one that is sleeping on a bed. You will need to fight the soldier on the bottom right.

Once you are done, head north to find another soldier inside a toilet. You also need to fight this one.

Next, exit back out and then go to the top door on the left side of the first floor. You will find another soldier in the staircase leading to the rooftop.

When you get to the rooftop, talk to the 5 soldiers here before entering the top door.

On the fifth floor, you will find another soldier that you need to fight.

Once you defeated the soldier, exit the fifth floor and then enter the east door on the rooftop. Go down the stairs to reach the first floor again. Here, you need to head to the middle door on the right side.

You will find 2 more soldiers in this room.

Next, take the southwest exit to find the final soldier in another toilet.

Once you talked to all the soldiers, return to the throne room and enter the right door to start the banquet.

During the dinner, you have to make the following dialogue choices in order:

The Floating Continent is a one-time dungeon. It also signals the point of no return, as you will be sent to the World of Ruin afterwards. In this location, you need to grab three chests before fighting Ultima Weapon. During the escape sequence, you should see the fourth chest. To get to it, head south and then north. If you head east instead, then the path to the chest will crumble and you will be locked out.

Crumbling House – 8 missable chests

The Crumbling House is a one-time only area. Within the time limit, make sure to grab the 8 chests before rescuing the kid. You should also make sure that you register the three missable enemies in this location to your bestiary as well.
