How to find missing Kombat Pack content in Mortal Kombat 1

The Kombat Pack is included in the premium and collector’s editions of Mortal Kombat 1. You can also purchase the DLC bundle as a standalone if you bought the standard edition. If you can’t find the content from the Kombat Pack in the game, then you can check out this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. If you bought the physical version of Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition, or the Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition, then make sure you redeem the voucher that came included in the game box. By doing so, you will be able to download the Kombat Pack.

The digital version of Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition should automatically include the Kombat Pack with the initial download.

2. You should also double check to see if you have the Kombat Pack purchased and installed on the digital store front of your platform.

3. Make sure that you have the latest patch installed for the game as a lot of the content from this DLC bundled will be added after the initial launch of the game.

4. You should also make sure that you are connected to the game servers in Mortal Kombat 1 in order to unlock the content.

5. As we stated above, some of the content may not be available yet. For the uninformed, the Kombat Pack comes with the following:

  • Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage
  • Quan Chi playable character
  • Ermac playable character
  • Takeda playable character
  • Omni-Man playable character
  • Peacemaker playable character
  • Homelander playable character
  • Tremor Kameo character
  • Mavado Kameo character
  • Johnny Cage Kameo character
  • Ferra Kameo character
  • Khameleon Kameo character

When the game was first released (September 14, 2023, for Premium and Kollector’s Edition owners or September 19, 2023, for everyone else), only the Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage is available. You can find the skin in the Kustomize menu for the character.

The six playable characters and five Kameo characters from the bundle will unlock later after the initial launch date. Once they have been made available, you should be able to access them in the game.

What to do if you can’t unlock Havik and other Mortal Kombat 1 story mode rewards

By playing through the story mode in Mortal Kombat 1, you will unlock rewards. One of the major ones is being able to play as Havik when you beat the entire campaign and reach the end credits.

If the rewards aren’t unlocking for you, then you can check out this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. To start off, you should make sure that you are connected to the game servers. Otherwise, you won’t be able to claim your rewards.

2. If you earn the rewards in story mode while playing offline, then make sure you connect to the online servers in MK1. Afterwards, you can claim the bonuses from the Notifications menu in the Kombat Kard screen.

You can open the Kombat Kard screen by pressing the touchpad on the DualSense, View button on the Xbox controller, – button on the Nintendo Switch controller or M key on the keyboard.

3. If you still aren’t unlocking the story rewards, then you can try restarting your game.

On the Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S console, you need to manually quit Mortal Kombat 1 in order to avoid putting it in the Quick Resume queue. You can then open the game again.

4. You can also try replaying the story mode again, with the game connected to its servers, to see if doing so will unlock the bonuses.

How to fix Mortal Kombat 1 crashing issues on consoles

When playing Mortal Kombat 1, the game may end up freezing and booting you back to the home screen menu of your PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X or Nintendo Switch console. To see how you can potentially fix these crashing issues, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

Based on our experience, the freezing occurs after you depleted the opponent’s life bar and just before the words Finish Him appear on the screen. The crashes happen more frequently in the Tower and Invasion modes when playing as a female character.

1. For the first potential fix, you can try deleting the game from the console and then re-installing it.

2. If re-installing the game did not help, then you should make sure that you aren’t putting the game in a suspended state and then putting your console in sleep/rest mode. Otherwise, the game may become unstable when you resume from where you left off.

On the Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, we suggest that you manually quit the game before you turn off your console. In order to do so, you need to take the following steps:

  • Press the Xbox button on the controller.
  • In the guide menu, move the cursor over to the Mortal Kombat 1 icon.
  • Press the Menu button on the controller.
  • Select Quit from the pop-up menu.

3. You can also try playing Mortal Kombat 1 offline. Keep in mind that some of the modes are online only.

4. Make sure that the game is installed on the console storage if you have the PS5, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S version. If it is installed on an expanded SSD instead, then we recommend moving it over to the internal SSD.

5. It is likely that a new patch for MK1 will improve the stability of the software, especially with the crashing issues appearing to be common.

Therefore, you should make sure that you have the latest version of the game downloaded and installed.

How to prevent the audio from cutting off in Mortal Kombat 1

You may notice that the sound may cut off in Mortal Kombat 1, especially when playing through its story mode. To see how you can prevent the audio from skipping, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, you can try restarting the game.

If you are playing the Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S version, you need to first manually quit out of the game. To do so, press the Xbox button to open the guide menu, move the cursor over to the Mortal Kombat 1 icon, press the Menu button and then select Quit. Afterwards, you can launch the fighting game again.

2. You should also check to see if there is a new patch available to download.

The development team at NetherRealm Studios has acknowledged that the sound cut off issue, indicating that it is somewhat widespread. Therefore, a new update may fix this issue for the fighting game.

3. If the audio is still skipping, then you can try using a different sound output device. If possible, try to use a wired device as wireless connections often cause the audio to cut off.

How to fix Mortal Kombat 1 Shang Tsung unlock issues

If you pre-order Mortal Kombat 1, then you will get Shang Tsung as a playable character. If this fighter is not unlocking, then you can check out this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. If you haven’t done so already, make sure you redeem Shang Tsung if you got him as a pre-order bonus.

If you purchase the game digitally, then the character should automatically be included with the initial download and installation; therefore, you shouldn’t have to do anything.

Keep in mind that you must pre-order the game from the digital store before it officially launches in order to get Shang Tsung as a free pre-order bonus; otherwise, you have to pay to access the character.

If you pre-order a physical copy, then you need to redeem the voucher that came inside the game box. The code needs to be redeemed on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 5 version, Microsoft Store for the Xbox version or eShop for the Nintendo Switch version. After entering the code, make sure you download the Shang Tsung DLC before opening the game.

2. You should also make sure that your PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S or Nintendo Switch is connected to the internet.

If you launched Mortal Kombat 1 initially without connecting to the game server, then you may not be able to unlock Shang Tsung.

3. If you still can’t play as Shang Tsung even though you believed that you have access to him, then we suggest that you directly contact the Mortal Kombat Games Support team with this page. Make sure you include a receipt in case you get asked to provide proof of your purchase.

How to prevent accidentally pausing in Mortal Kombat 1

During intensive matches in Mortal Kombat 1, you may find yourself hitting the pause button. Of course, this can break your flow and concentration, especially if you are in the middle of performing a combo.

To see how you can prevent accidentally pausing in this fighting game, you can check out this tutorial from Seeking Tech.

1 First off, you need to head over to the Settings menu in MK1.

2. From the Settings menu, make sure you are viewing the Gameplay tab on the left side of the screen.

3. On the right side of the screen, move the cursor over to Pause Delay, which should show the following description:

“Toggle whether the [Pause] button must be held to pause the game.”

Depending on which system you are playing Mortal Kombat 1 on, the Pause button will be different. For the PlayStation controller, you have to hold the Options button to pause. On an Xbox gamepad, you have to hold the Menu button. If you are playing with a Nintendo Switch controller, you need to hold the + button.

4. By default, Pause Delay is disabled. To prevent any accidental pausing, make sure that this is set to On from the Gameplay tab in the Settings menu.

By doing so, the gameplay won’t be paused even if you press the Options/Menu/+ button by mistake.

How to disable controller vibrations in Mortal Kombat 1

By default, controller vibrations are enabled in Mortal Kombat 1. While the haptic feedback adds an extra layer of immersion to the fighting game, it can be very distracting when you are trying to defeat your opponents.

To see how you can turn off rumble for the latest Mortal Kombat installment, you can take a look at this guide from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, make your way to the Settings menu in MK1.

2. From the Settings menu, navigate towards Kontrols in the left column.

3. On the right side of the same screen, move the cursor down to Vibration. This option should show the following information:

Toggle wireless controller vibration.

4. By default, the Vibration option is enabled. To disable it, make sure that it is set to “Off.”

5. Once you are done turning off the haptic feedback, you can exit the Settings menu and then return to playing Mortal Kombat 1.

You should no longer notice your controller shaking with the Vibration setting disabled.

How to farm gold quickly in Sea of Stars

If you find yourself running out of money frequently in Sea of Stars, then you can check out this guide at Seeking Tech to see how you can farm gold quickly.

Selling Items

The easiest way to make money in this role-playing game is by selling your items at stores. When you select the Sell option, the first category you should see is for Valuables. These items are meant to be should as it should as they serve no other purpose.

If you are still running short on cash, then we suggest selling your cooked foods. The individual ingredients aren’t worth much when sold. When you create dishes from campfires, however, you will be able to get better value.

Since you can only hold 10 cooked items at a time, you should sell off any plates that aren’t useful during battle and then cook for more dishes to be sold.

Of course, you should also sell any unequipped weapons and armor.

Relics

Some relics can be very helpful if you constantly find yourself low on gold.

If you are spending too much cash when it comes to getting healing items, then we recommend that you enable the Amulet of Storytelling, which will be given to you near the beginning of the story. By doing so, you will be able to double the maximum HP of your characters. Furthermore, your characters will be healed to full health after every battle.

To make combat even easier, you can also enable the Guardian Aura relic, which reduces the damage taken by 30%. This relic can be bought when you first visit the Stonemasons Outpost.

With both of these relics, you won’t have to spend money on healing items as often, which frees up your wallet for other purchases.

Later on in the game, you will be able to purchase the Gold Tooth relic in Lucent. This relic will reduce the price of items in all shops when activated.

While you can also earn gold by fighting enemies and/or playing the Wheels mini-game, these activities are more time-consuming.

How to make blocking easier in Sea of Stars

Blocking incoming attacks is important in Sea of Stars as this action reduces the amount of damage taken. If you are having a difficult time defending against strikes in this role-playing game, then you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. If you are playing Sea of Stars on a television set, then you should make sure that you are playing with Game Mode, Game Optimizer Mode or a similar picture setting enabled on your TV.

This specialized mode is designed to reduce latency when it comes to the controller input.

2. Another way to reduce input lag is to avoid using a wireless controller. A wired connection is much better when it comes to responsiveness.

3. You will unlock the chance to purchase a relic called Sixth Sense early on in your adventure. This item should unlock the first time you visit the Stonemasons Outpost.

By enabling this relic, your party members should be able to automatically block incoming attacks at a rate of around 35%. Of course, you should still be able to manually block on your own as well.

If you find that the characters are taking too much damage due to you not being able to correctly time your blocks, then the Sixth Sense should help you during combat, especially when fighting against stronger enemies and bosses.

You may also want to consider enabling the Amulet of Storytelling and/or Guardian Aura relics to make battles easier.

4. Aside from the aforementioned tips, the only other way to improve your blocking is to simply keep practicing.
