Optimized Gaming Settings for Samsung S85F, S90F and S95F

This Seeking Tech guide will show you the best settings to use for your Samsung S85F, S90F, or S95F when it comes to playing games on your Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and other gaming hardware.

HDMI Connection

Use the HDMI cable that comes with your console to connect to your S85F, S90F, or S95F. All four ports of these TVs support HDMI 2.1 or lower.

  • Change Game Mode to Auto for consoles. For PC only, change Game Mode to On.

PS5 and PS5 Pro settings for S85F, S90F and S95F

On the PS5, do the following in the Video Output menu to optimize your console for the S85F, S90F or S95F:

  • Change Resolution to 2160p
  • Change HDR to On When Supported
  • Change VRR to Automatic and the change Apply to Unsupported Games to On. Note: If the Apply to Unsupported Games setting ends up causing issues when you are playing a specific game, then you can disable it.
  • Change 120 Hz Output to Automatic
  • Change ALLM to Automatic
  • Change 4K Transfer Rate to Automatic
  • Change Deep Color Output to Automatic
  • Change RGB Range to Automatic
  • PS5 Pro Only: Set Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games to On. This may improve image quality for PS4 games that outputs at 1080p. Note: If you experience any issues when playing a specific PS4 game on the PS5 Pro (such as low frame rate or visual glitches), you can set this to Off instead.
  • For the Adjust HDR menu, adjust the brightness of the first two screens until the symbol is barely visible. Afterwards, increase the brightness one more level. Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S setting for S85F, S90F and S95F

On the Xbox Series X and S, you need to take the following steps in the TV & display options and Video modes menus to optimize the console for your S85F, S90F or S95F:

  • Change Resolution to 4K UHD
  • Change Refresh Rate to 120 Hz
  • Turn on Allow auto-low latency mode
  • Change Variable refresh rate to Gaming Only
  • Turn on Allow variable refresh rate
  • Turn on Allow 4K
  • Turn on Allow HDR10
  • For the Calibrate HDR for Games setup, you can just follow the instructions on the screen.

Nintendo Switch 2 Settings for setting for S85F, S90F and S95F

For the Nintendo Switch 2, you need to do the following in the Display menu to optimize it for your S85F, S90F or S95F:

  • Change Console’s Screen HDR Output to On
  • Change TV Resolution to Automatic
  • Change RGB Range to Automatic
  • Change 120Hz Output to On
  • Change Auto Low-Latency Mode (ALLM) to On
  • Change HDR Output to Compatible Software Only
  • For the Adjust HDR setting, you should follow the instructions on the first screen. On the second screen, you can leave it at default and then check if the image appears to be washed out.
