How to fix Sony LinkBuds S touch control issues

You can use the touch sensors of the Sony LinkBuds S for several functions.

If you are having problems trying to get the touch inputs of the ear buds to work correctly, then you can take a look at this troubleshooting article at Seeking Tech.

1. The first step we recommend taking is to make sure that your ear buds aren’t overheating.

For the uninformed, these devices have a recommended operating temperature range of 32 °F to 104 °F or 0 °C to 40 °C.

If your ear phones feel hot, then you should turn them off and then remove them from your ears. Afterwards, wait for both to cool down before using the LinkBuds S again.

2. If your ear buds are wet, then you should turn them off. Afterwards, you should wait until the buds are completely dried before turning them back on again.

3. By default, you won’t be able to use touch controls if you aren’t currently wearing the LinkBuds S. In order to change this setting, you need to do the following:

  • First off, you need to download and install the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app on a smartphone or mobile device if you haven’t done so already.
  • With the application installed, open it and then link it to your Sony LinkBuds S.
  • After linking the earphones, you should be able to find the option to disable the automatic power off feature from the dashboard of the Sony LinkBuds S.

4. Make sure that your finger isn’t dirty when using the touch controls as the sensor may not be able to recognize your inputs.

5. You should also make sure that you aren’t earing any gloves as the sensor may not be able to detect your touch.

6. Keep in mind that both the left and right ear buds have touch sensors. The touch input functions could be different depending on which sensor you are using.

So, if the touch controls aren’t working as intended on one of the ear buds, then you can try using the touch sensor located on the other bud.

7. The earphones should also not be dirty. To find out how you can properly clean the Sony Link Buds S, you can take a look at this post.

8. If you are only experiencing issues with the double tap or triple tap functions, then you make sure you are tapping the touch sensor quickly enough. According to Sony, you should wait no more than around 0.3 seconds in between taps.

9. If you are using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant on the connected device, then the touch controls for the Sony LinkBuds S may have changed. You may have made changes to the touch controls previously as well.

To view the touch controls, as well as customize its functions to suit your preferences, you need to use the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app.

10. You can also try resetting or factory resetting the Sony LinkBuds S. If you don’t know how to do either of these actions, then you can follow the steps laid out by this tutorial.

In the Monthly Games category, you will get a refresh on the first Tuesday of every month. The games from the previous month will be removed while at least two games will be added as replacements.

As for the Game Catalog and Classic Catalog, you will get monthly refreshes that will occur in the middle of the month. The number of new games being added to these categories will vary.

If you decide to overwrite the existing file, then you will get another message asking if you really want to overwrite the Save file. Select “Yes” to confirm the overwrite.

1. Turn on your game console if you haven’t done so already.

2. You should also make sure that you are logged into the PSN account that you are using to pay for your current PlayStation Plus subscription.

For the first, as well as the fastest, method, you can do the following:

  • Open the PlayStation Plus App from the home screen.
  • In the PlayStation Plus App, select the icon that has the three dots on the top right side.
  • From the pop-up menu, you should then select Manage Subscription.

For the second method, you need to take the following steps:

  • Open the PlayStation Store App in the home screen.
  • Inside of the PlayStation Store App, select the icon with the three dots, which should be located on the top right corner of the screen next to the shopping cart icon.
  • In the pop-up menu, select Subscriptions.
  • From the Subscriptions screen, you then need to select PlayStation Plus.

5. After getting to the menu where you can alter you current PlayStation Plus plan, you then need to select Change Plan.

6. In the Select a Plan menu, you can select the tier that you want to downgrade to.

To see what the differences are between the PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra, PlayStation Plus Deluxe and PlayStation Plus Premium plans, you can take a look at this comparison article.

7. After selecting a plan, you should now be in the Select a Billing Cycle screen.

How to turn off PS Plus Essential, Extra, Deluxe and Premium auto-renewal on PS4

Sony recently changed to PlayStation Plus service into multiple tiers. For some regions, including the United States, you can pick between Essential, Extra or Premium. In other regions, you can choose between Essential, Extra or Deluxe.

Furthermore, the company also changed how auto-renewal works. To see how you can disable this feature on your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro console, you can take a look at this tutorial from Seeking Tech.

What happens when you let your PS Plus Essential, Extra, Deluxe or Premium auto-renew?

If you leave auto-renew on for your PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, Deluxe or Premium, then you will automatically be billed once your current plan expires.

If you don’t have enough money in your PlayStation Network wallet, then Sony will try to charge your debit card, credit card or another payment method that you previously added to your account.

Unfortunately, the new changes implemented to the PlayStation Plus service do not make it clear how you can turn off auto-renewal.

How to disable PS Plus Essential, Extra, Deluxe and Premium auto-renewal on PS4

In order to stop your PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, Deluxe or Premium from getting auto-renewed, you need to take the following steps on your PS4 or PS4 Pro console:

1. If you haven’t done so already, turn on your PlayStation 4.

2. Next, make sure you are signed into the same PlayStation Network account that you used to previously purchased your PlayStation Plus subscription.

3. You should then go to the home screen menu.

If you are currently playing a game or using an app, then you can go to the home screen by pressing the PS button on your DualShock 4.

4. After getting to the home screen, select the PlayStation Plus Games app.

Alternatively, you can navigate upwards and then select the PlayStation Plus icon.

5. Inside of the PlayStation Plus App, select the More option. You can find it by navigating upwards and then moving to the right.

6. In the drop-down menu, you need to select Manage Subscription from the list of options.

7. You should now be in the PlayStation Plus screen, which will show the following information about your subscription:

  • Start Date
  • Next Payment Date
  • Next Payment

Here, you need to select the Cancel Subscription option.

5. In the next screen, you will see a message saying the following:

“It’s been a great run, but there’s so much more!”

Here, you need to select Confirm Cancellation.

When you cancel you PlayStation Plus subscription, you won’t get a refund. Instead, you will still get the benefits of your tier for the remainder of the length of time you previously paid for.

Once your original subscription period ends, you will lose the benefits. Since you cancel the plan beforehand, however, then the plan won’t be automatically renewed.

How to check if a PS1 or PSP game supports trophies on PS5

With the introduction of the PlayStation Plus Deluxe and PlayStation Plus Premium subscriptions, select emulated PS1 and PSP games are now officially playable on the PlayStation 5.

When it comes to these classic titles, Sony has made trophy support optional. To see how you can check if a PS1 or PSP game supports trophies on your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console, you can take a look at this tutorial from Seeking Tech.

How to check if a PS1 or PSP game have a trophy list on PS5

In order to check if a PSOne or PSP game comes with a trophy list on your PS5 console, then you can take the following steps:

1. If you haven’t done so already, make sure you have already downloaded, installed and played the PSOne or PSP game.

If you have a PlayStation Plus Deluxe or PlayStation Plus Premium subscription, then you can download select PS1 and PSP games at no additional costs.

If you bought a PS1 or PSP game, such as Wild Arms, previously on a PS3, PSP or PS Vita, then you may be able to download it for free on the PlayStation Store of your PlayStation 5 console.

2. After you played the PS1 or PSP game, then you can go to the Trophies menu of your PS5.

One of the methods to do so is to use the quick menu by doing the following:

  • Press the PS button.
  • In the quick menu, select your profile picture, which should be next to the power icon at the bottom of the screen.
  • You then need to select Trophies from the pop-up menu.

For the second method, you can use the home screen by taking the following steps:

  • First off, make sure you are in the home screen, which is the main navigation menu where you can select a game to launch. If you are somewhere else, then you can press the PS button and then select the home icon at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, you can press and hold the PS button until the home menu shows up.
  • From the home screen, select your profile picture, which is located on the top right corner next to the clock display.
  • In the pop-up menu, select Trophies.

3. After getting to the Trophies menu, you will set trophy lists for the games you have played. The screen will list the most recently play titles on top.

If you don’t see a trophy list for the PS1 or PSP game that you were playing, then this indicates that the game does not come with trophy support.

How to check if a PS1 or PSP game supports trophies before playing it

If you want to check if a PS1 or PSP game supports trophies before you play it, then we recommend searching for the game at Exophase. If you don’t see a trophy list for the game on PS5, then it means that you won’t be able to earn any trophies when playing it.
