How to fix Party Animals network errors

You may run into the following network errors while playing Party Animals:

  • Internet connection failed, trying to reconnect.
  • Create team failed, please try again later.
  • Unknown error during matching.
  • Failed to login. Failed to fetch server address. Please try again. Error Code 10001.

To see how you can potentially fix these connection issues for the multiplayer brawler, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, we recommend checking the official Party Animals Twitter page to see if there are any announcements regarding server issues.

If there appears to be a server problem, then you need to wait for it to be fixed until you can play the game, which requires an online connection even for local multiplayer, in order to play it.

2. If the online servers seem to be fined, then you should make sure that you aren’t using your internet to stream and/or download at the same time as you are playing Party Animals.

If possible, we also recommend using a wired Ethernet connection over Wi-Fi. If you can only use wireless, then you should make sure that you have a strong signal that won’t drop at random times.

3. If your internet connection appears to be fine, then you can try switching servers. This can be done by going to the game’s Settings menu and then selecting Server & Region from the General tab.

Make sure you switch to the region with the lowest ping.

4. From the same General tab in settings, you can also try setting the Network Stability Adjustment to High.

How to disable the microphone and voice chat in Party Animals

The microphone and voice chat are enabled by default when playing Party Animals. To see how you can disable both of these communication features, you can take a look at this tutorial from Seeking Tech.

Method #1

For the first method, you can take the following steps:

1. Head over to the Settings menu from either the main menu or in-game menu.

2. From there, you can head over to the Sound tab and then move the cursor down to Listening Scope.

3. Set the Listening Scope to Nobody so that you won’t hear other players chatting on their microphone.

4. Next, move the cursor down to Microphone.

5. Make sure that the Microphone setting is set to Off so that other players won’t be able to hear you talking.

9. Apply your changes.

Method #2

You can also mute the mic and voice chat from the in-game menu by doing the following:

1. During gameplay, open the menu. If you are using an Xbox controller, then you need to press the View button.

2. From the menu, you should see a button layout for menu navigating in the bottom as well as the Microphone and Listening Scope settings on the button left.

If you are using an Xbox gamepad, then you can change the Microphone setting with the LB button and the Listening Scope setting with the RB button.

Make sure that Microphone is set to Off and Listening Scope is set to Nobody.

How to fix Party Animals input lag issues

You may notice that there is a bit of delay when it comes to controller inputs while playing Party Animals. To see how you can potentially fix the latency for this multiplayer title, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

Before we start, it is important to note that this game relies heavily on ragdoll physics. As a result, your character feels heavier to control. This is a design choice made by the development team, which makes the game a lot less responsive.

With that said, you can still take some steps to lower the input lag as much as possible.

1. For the first potential fix, you should make sure that you have Game Mode enabled in the picture settings of your TV or monitor. This will lower the input latency when it comes to playing games such as Party Animals.

2. We also recommend plugging your controller into your computer, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S. This is because a wired connection should be more responsive than a wireless connection when it comes to controller inputs.

3. You should also check the network settings in the game. In order to do so, head over to the General tab from the Settings menu.

From there, select Sever & Region. Afterwards, make sure your global server is set to a region with the lowest ping.

4. Head back to the General tab of the Settings menu and then move the cursor down to Network Stability Adjustment.

Make sure that this option is set to Light. The Medium or Strong setting could result in more input lag.

How to leave a game in Party Animals

You may be slightly confused in regards to leaving an offline game, online match or tutorial in Party Animals. To see how you can properly exit back to the main menu, you can take a look at this guide from Seeking Tech.

1. In the middle of gameplay, you first need to bring up the menu screen. This can be done by pressing the Esc key on the keyboard if you are playing on a PC.

If you are playing the game on an Xbox One, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, then you need to press the View button on the controller. This is the button with the two overlapping squares.

2. In the Menu screen, you can then select Leave Game if you are playing multiplayer or Leave Tutorial to quit the tutorial level.

If you are hosting a multiplayer match, then you can also leave by selecting Lobby Info from the menu screen. Afterwards, you can select the End Game option to exit back to the main menu.

What to do if you can’t play Party Animals due to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate requirement

When trying to play Party Animals on your Xbox One, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, you may be asked to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate first. If you encounter this issue, then you can check out this Seeking Tech guide to see how you can potentially fix it.

To start off, it is important to note that Party Animals requires a constant online connection even if you are playing local split-screen matches. In order to connect online for this game, you will need to subscribe to either Xbox Game Pass Core or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Without a subscription, you can only play through the tutorial.

Unfortunately, the development team at Recreate Games has issued a statement saying that they do not play to add an offline mode to the game. You can find their comments below (via Steam):

We regret the misunderstanding and wish to clarify that the game does not have, nor do we plan to introduce, an offline mode. Party Animals currently requires an online connection to play.

Keep in mind that the Xbox Game Pass Console tier does not include online multiplayer. So, if you downloaded Party Animals from the Console tier of this service, then you need to upgrade your subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to play the multiplayer modes.

How to change server region in Party Animals

You are able to switch to a different server region when playing online multiplayer in Party Animals. To find out how you can make this change, you can take a look at this guide from Seeking Tech.

2. From there, select Settings.

3. In Settings, make sure you are viewing the General tab. If you are on another tab, then you can use the LB or RB buttons to switch tabs on an Xbox controller.

3. From the General tab in Settings, select Server & Region.

4. In the Select Server screen, you will see a list of available Global Servers.

The server you are currently connected to is marked as “Current.” You should also see the ping of each server located to the right.

5. Select a new region from the Select Server screen and then apply the change (which can be done by pressing the Y button on an Xbox controller).

6. The game will then ask for a relaunch in order to connect to the new region server. Select Yes to continue.

How to disable crossplay in Xbox version of Party Animals

By default, cross network matchmaking is enabled when playing Party Animals on Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. This will allow you to play the multiplayer game with PC players.

If you think that some of the PC players have an unfair advantage, or outright cheating, then you can check out this guide to see how you can disable crossplay on your Xbox.

1. There is no in-game option in Party Animals where you can turn off crossplay. Instead, you need to head over to the Settings menu of your Xbox console.

2. From Settings, go to Account > Prviacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer.

3. From the Account – Communication & multiplayer menu, you should see the “You can join cross-network play” column. Select the drop-down menu underneath it and then select the Block option.

4. Restart Party Animals to disable crossplay. If you have the game on Quick Resume, you need to manually quit out of the game and then launch it again in order to restart.

5. You should see the following message in the main menu when cross platform play is disabled:

Crossplay is turned off. This will make matchmaking slower and limit the amount of custom lobbies you can join. To change, please go to Xbox privacy settings.

You should now only be matched up with other Xbox players when playing the online multiplayer.
