Spider-Man 2: Fidelity Pro vs Performance Pro (PSSR2)

This video compares Fidelity Pro to Performance Pro (PSSR2) when it comes to Spider-Man 2 running on the PlayStation 5 Pro. PSSR2 is enabled via the Enhance PSSR Image Quality toggle.

For this comparison, the VRR is set to Uncapped and the 120 Hz Display Mode is set to Auto. Motion Blur, Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration and Depth of Field are all disabled.

The Ray Tracing settings were kept to each mode’s default values.

On Fidelity Pro, this means that RT Key Light Shadows is turned on, while RT Reflections & Interiors and RT Ambient Occlusion are set to High.

In Performance pro, this mean that RT Key Light Shadows is disabled, RT Reflections & Interiors is set to medium, and RT Ambient Occlusion is turned off.

You can find the comparison video below:

In addition to running at twice the frame rate, Performance Pro provides a better image quality with PSSR2. If you mind missing out on some of the Ray Tracing features of Fidelity Pro, then you should play Spider-Man 2 in Performance Pro with the Enhance PSSR Image Quality setting enabled.
