How to fix Diablo 4 Untamed Thicket crashing and freezing issues

When you try to enter Untamed Thicket for the first time in Diablo IV during Fangs of Corruption quest from Act 2: The Knife Twists Again, the game may end up crashing. This problem seems to be more common on the console versions of this action role-playing as it has been reported by players on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X systems.

To see how you can fix this freezing issue, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. When we encountered this glitch, we were able to fix it by completing another quest first by trying to go to Untamed Thicket.

So, if you have a side quest, then you can try to finish it beforehand. If you don’t have another quest available, then you should explore the surrounding areas until you can get one.

2. Disabling the cross play feature before you enter this location may stop the game from bugging out as well.

You can find this setting in the Social tab of the Options menu. If you disable crossplay from the in-game pause menu, then we recommend that you log out of your account and then log back in.

If you turned off this feature before you load your character, then go back into the game and then see if you are able to get through the entrance without any problems.

In both of these cases, you may also want to restart the game if the freezing still occurs. On the Series S or Series X, you need to quit the game from the Xbox Guide menu; otherwise, it will be put in a suspended state instead of rebooting.

Once you managed to get inside Untamed Thicket, make sure you re-enable crossplay if you want to play and trade with other players on other platforms.

To learn more about how you can disable the ability to play and trade with players on other platforms online in Diablo IV, you can take a look at this post.

3. Of course, you should also make sure you have the latest patch installed for Diablo IV as a new title update or hot fix may fix this crash. As we stated above, this is a common glitch affecting many players in the action RPG; therefore, the development team should be working on a solution as one of the top priorities.
