Ultra High Speed Bus Interface

All of the capacities for both cards in this versus guide use the UHS-I interface, which provides bus speeds of up to up to 104 MB per second.

Class

Both micro SD cards from SanDisk also have the same speed class of 10. This means that the flash memory is capable of at least 10 MB per second when it comes to sequential writing speed.

UHS Speed Class

U1 is another classification for a memory card that can achieve a minimum sequential write speed of 10 MB per second. Aside from the 16 GB version of the older SanDisk Ultra, all the other size options have been rated for the U1 UHS Speed Classification.

Application Performance Class

Application Performance Classification is a set of speed requirements that need to be met in order run applications smoothly on a microSD card. All of the capacities for both the new and old SanDisk Ultra microSDs have been rated at A1, which mean the cards are capable of a minimum sustained write speed of 10 MB per second, minimum random read speed of at least 1500 IOPS and a minimum random write speed of at least 500 IOPS.

Read Speed

With the new Ultra microSDXC cards, SanDisk used proprietary technology to add more read speed to go beyond the aforementioned UHS-I’s limit of 104 MB per second to reach 120 MB per second.

You can take a look at the read speed specifications for each capacity option below:

2nd Gen Fire TV Stick vs. 3rd Gen Fire TV Stick vs. Fire TV Stick Lite vs. Fire TV Stick 4K

Amazon recently announced the third generation Fire TV Stick and first generation Fire TV Stick Lite. So, how do these two products stack up against each other as well as the second generation Fire TV Stick and first generation Fire TV Stick 4K?

You can find out in this comparison guide between these four media players.

Quick Summary

When compared to the 2nd Gen Amazon Fire TV Stick, the 1st Gen 4K Stick, 1st Gen Lite Stick and 3rd Gen Stick come with a processor that is 50% more powerful, which leads to a big performance boost.

The 2nd Gen stick does not support HDR while the other three media players do (although the Fire TV Stick 4K is the only one compatible with Dolby Vision).

If you have a 4K TV, or planning to get one in the future, then the only option you have is the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K as the other media sticks support video playback at only up to 1080p.

If you only have a 1080p TV, then the 3rd generation Fire TV and 1st generation Fire TV Lite sticks are more powerful, have more audio options, come with a low power mode and include HDR support when compared to the 2nd Gen Amazon Fire TV Stick.

The 3rd Gen Fire TV Stick, along with the 1st Gen Fire TV Stick 4K, are the only media players in this comparison to support Dolby Atmos.

What’s the difference between Eero, Eero Pro, Eero 6 and Eero 6 Pro?

In 2020, Amazon released the Eero 6 and Eero Pro 6 Wi-Fi mesh systems. So, how does these two products compare against each other as well as the older versions of the Eero and Eero Pro?

You can find out in this comparison guide between the four wireless systems.

Quick Summary

When compared to the older versions, the new Eero 6 and Eero 6 Pro added support for Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax). The Eero 6 also has a faster maximum speed than the Eero.

The Eero Pro 6 is faster than the Eero Pro and is the fastest out of these four routers overall.

Amazon also added several new features to the Eero 6 and Eero Pro 6 such as AES Encryption, RSA, SHA-256, TLS v1.2+ Cloud Connectivity, WPA3 Encryption and Zigbee Smart Home Hub.

Out of this group, we recommend getting the Eero Pro 6 is you want the fastest speeds as well as the most features. Even if you don’t have any Wi-Fi 6 devices, the Eero Pro 6 is backwards compatible with the older Wi-Fi versions. Not to mention that newer devices will likely be Wi-Fi 6 compatible; so, your Eero Pro 6 will be future-proofed.

Speed Classifications

There are several speed classifications, which can be quite confusing.

Class

The first is class, which represents the minimum write speed of a micro SD card. All the Lexar cards in this comparison guide are Class 10, meaning that the products have a minimum write speed of at least 10 MB per second.

UHS Speed Class

Next up is the UHS Speed Class, which also shows the minimum write speed of a card.

The 300x series, as well as the 32GB versions of the 663x and 1066x, are classified as U1, meaning that the cards have a write speed of at least 10 MB per second.

The rest of the cards are classified as U3 since these products have a write speed of at least 30 MB per second.

Video Speed Class

Video Speed Class measures the sustained writing ability of a memory card, which is important for continuous video recording.

The 300x series don’t have any classification, so it is not suitable for video recording.

The 32GB versions of the 663x and 1066x are V10 as these microSD cards are capable of 10 MB per second.

The bigger capacities of the 663x and 1066x, as well as the 667x and 667x Videos series, are V30 as these memory cards are capable of writing at least 30 MB per second.

The Lexar 1000x series are classified as V60 with the capability of writing 60 MB per second.

Last but certainly not least is the 1800x with V90, which means that the cards are write at least 90 MB per second.

For video shooting, V90 is the only option if you are shooting 8K videos. V30 and above are recommend for 4K video shooting while V30 and below are suitable for 1080p, 720p and standard resolution video shooting.

Application Performance Class

Some of the cards also have an Application Performance Class, which measures the sustained write speed in addition to random read and write speeds. This specification is used to see how fast and Android apps can be launched in addition to how fast they can perform on micro SD cards.

The 32GB to 256GB versions of the 663x along with the 64 GB version of the 667x and 32 GB version of the 1066x are classified as A1, which means that these cards have a sustained write speed of at least 10 MB in addition to a random read speed of at least 1500 IOPS and a random write speed of at least 500 IOPS.

The 512GB version of the 663x, 128GB to 256GB versions of the 667x as well as the 64GB to 256GB versions of the 1066x are classified as A2. This mean that these memory cards can sustain a writing speed of 10 MB minimum in addition to a random read speed of 4000 IOPS minimum and a random write speed of 2000 IOPS minimum.

So, if you want best speeds for Android apps, make sure you get the A2 Lexar microSDXC cards.

SU630 vs. SU635 vs. SU650 vs. SU655 vs. SU720 vs. SU750 vs. SU760 vs. SU800 vs. SU900

If you are looking for a 2.5″ SATA 6Gb/s internal solid state drive, then ADATA has quite a few similar products to choose from.

This Seeking Tech guide will help you differentiate the SU630, SU635, SU650, SU655, SU720, SU750, SU760, SU800 and SU900 models.

Quick Summary

When compared to the other ADATA Ultimate Internal SSDs, the SU900 have the fastest maximum sequential write speed and tied (along with the SU900) for having the fastest maximum sequential read speed. With that said, the differences aren’t really substantial.

In terms of durability, the SU900 is mostly the same as many of the other solid state drives in this comparison guide. However, the SU900 does have a potentially longer warranty period of 5 years as opposed to 3 years.

So, if you want the best performance and longest warranty coverage, then the SU900 is the best option available.

If you don’t mind losing out on the extra two warranty years, then the SU750, SU760 and SU800 offer similar read and write speeds at more affordable ranges.
