Mortal Kombat 1 Premium and Kollector’s Editions

If you purchase the premium or collector’s edition of Mortal Kombat 1, then you will get Dragon Krystals as part of the bundle.

For the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition, 1250 Dragon Krystals (which is a $9.99 value) is included. The digital version of this edition should include the virtual currency when you download and install the game. If you got a physical copy, then you need to redeem the voucher that came included in the game box.

If you got the physical-only Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition, then you will get 2700 Dragon Krystals (which has a value of $19.99). Make sure you redeem the voucher that came with the collector’s box in order to add the virtual currency to your profile in the game.

How to fix Mortal Kombat 1 Shang Tsung unlock issues

If you pre-order Mortal Kombat 1, then you will get Shang Tsung as a playable character. If this fighter is not unlocking, then you can check out this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. If you haven’t done so already, make sure you redeem Shang Tsung if you got him as a pre-order bonus.

If you purchase the game digitally, then the character should automatically be included with the initial download and installation; therefore, you shouldn’t have to do anything.

Keep in mind that you must pre-order the game from the digital store before it officially launches in order to get Shang Tsung as a free pre-order bonus; otherwise, you have to pay to access the character.

If you pre-order a physical copy, then you need to redeem the voucher that came inside the game box. The code needs to be redeemed on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 5 version, Microsoft Store for the Xbox version or eShop for the Nintendo Switch version. After entering the code, make sure you download the Shang Tsung DLC before opening the game.

2. You should also make sure that your PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S or Nintendo Switch is connected to the internet.

If you launched Mortal Kombat 1 initially without connecting to the game server, then you may not be able to unlock Shang Tsung.

3. If you still can’t play as Shang Tsung even though you believed that you have access to him, then we suggest that you directly contact the Mortal Kombat Games Support team with this page. Make sure you include a receipt in case you get asked to provide proof of your purchase.

How to prevent accidentally pausing in Mortal Kombat 1

During intensive matches in Mortal Kombat 1, you may find yourself hitting the pause button. Of course, this can break your flow and concentration, especially if you are in the middle of performing a combo.

To see how you can prevent accidentally pausing in this fighting game, you can check out this tutorial from Seeking Tech.

1 First off, you need to head over to the Settings menu in MK1.

2. From the Settings menu, make sure you are viewing the Gameplay tab on the left side of the screen.

3. On the right side of the screen, move the cursor over to Pause Delay, which should show the following description:

“Toggle whether the [Pause] button must be held to pause the game.”

Depending on which system you are playing Mortal Kombat 1 on, the Pause button will be different. For the PlayStation controller, you have to hold the Options button to pause. On an Xbox gamepad, you have to hold the Menu button. If you are playing with a Nintendo Switch controller, you need to hold the + button.

4. By default, Pause Delay is disabled. To prevent any accidental pausing, make sure that this is set to On from the Gameplay tab in the Settings menu.

By doing so, the gameplay won’t be paused even if you press the Options/Menu/+ button by mistake.

How to disable controller vibrations in Mortal Kombat 1

By default, controller vibrations are enabled in Mortal Kombat 1. While the haptic feedback adds an extra layer of immersion to the fighting game, it can be very distracting when you are trying to defeat your opponents.

To see how you can turn off rumble for the latest Mortal Kombat installment, you can take a look at this guide from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step, make your way to the Settings menu in MK1.

2. From the Settings menu, navigate towards Kontrols in the left column.

3. On the right side of the same screen, move the cursor down to Vibration. This option should show the following information:

Toggle wireless controller vibration.

4. By default, the Vibration option is enabled. To disable it, make sure that it is set to “Off.”

5. Once you are done turning off the haptic feedback, you can exit the Settings menu and then return to playing Mortal Kombat 1.

You should no longer notice your controller shaking with the Vibration setting disabled.
