I recently got a chance to play through Moto-X on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Ratalaika Games.
You can find my platinum trophy walkthrough below:
Trophy Guide and Road Map:
Step 1:
Play the game without enabling any of the infinite ammo cheat for weapons. Your main goal for this stage is to pick up any power-up you see on the track to unlock their respective trophies. If you enable infinite ammo for any of these power-ups, then the trophies won’t unlock.
In this stage, you should earn the following:
- Eat My Dust: Collect the dust cloud power up
- Smoked Em: Collect the gas cloud power up
- Dirty Bike Harry: Collect the gun power up
- Mortar-X: Collect the mortar power up
Step 2:
Once you unlock all the power-up trophies, you can return to the emulation menu again and enable the infinite ammo cheat if you want. I only enable it for the gun power-up, which is the most useful one for me.
If you haven’t done so already, make sure you enable Never Overheat cheat to get infinite turbo. To use turbo, press and the circle button. With this cheat, you don’t have to use the other acceleration buttons.
Next, you need to finish first in the 250 CC, 500 CC and 750 CC modes. Along the way, make sure you finish first in each of the five tracks, which can be done in any mode.
Use cheats, rewind, and save states if you have to at any time during the race to gain an advantage. It is a good idea to save at the start of every race just in case you need to start it over again.
By finishing first in all the tracks and CC tours, you should unlock the following remaining trophies for the platinum:
- Straight to the Dome: Beat track 1 in any CC
- Canyon Jumper: Beat track 2 in any CC
- Creek Beat: Beat track 3 in any CC
- Showdown At Sundown: Beat track 4 in any CC
- Gorgeously Done: Beat track 5 in any CC
- The Kid Beat: 250 CC mode
- Show Time: Beat 500 CC mode
- Dr. Doom: Beat 750 CC mode
You can find my mini review of Moto X below:
Pros:
- Fun retro dirt bike racer.
- Race-changing power-ups,
- Cheats, rewind, and save states.
Cons:
- None.
Overall:
Moto X was originally developed for the Super NES in 1994 but was never released until 2023 in SNES cartridge format.
Thanks to Ratalaika Games, Moto X is now available, via emulation, on all modern platforms. Not only that, cheats, rewind, and save states have been added as well if you want to take advantage of these features.
In terms of the actual game, Moto X is a chaotic dirt bike racer where you have to complete with other hostile racers to reach first place at the finish line.
You can crash your bike quite easily if you angle it wrong during a jump. Not to mention that rivals can also knock you out of your bike if they get close.
To counter, you can also hit them back as well as use any power-up you found on the track. My favorite is the gun, which lets you shoot ahead to knock down the opponent in its direct line of sight.
Overall, Moto X is a fun arcade racer that is now readily available on all modern platforms. If you are a fan of 2D motorcycle racers like Excitebike, then make sure you check out this new release.
