How to disable the startup sound on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X
To disable the startup chime for your Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X system, you need to take the following steps:
1. Press the Xbox button, which is the button that has the Xbox logo and is lit up on your controller, to open the Guide menu.
2. Inside of the Guide menu, navigate over to the “Profile & system” tab.
In order to switch tabs, you can press the right directional button, use the left analog stick to point to the right or use the RB shoulder button.
3. Once you get to the “Profile & system” tab, select the “Settings” option with the A button on your Xbox controller.
4. On the left side of the “Settings” menu, select “General.”
5. On the right side of the same screen, select the “Power mode & startup” option.
6. Once you are in the “General – Power mode & startup” menu, you need to select the “Startup chime” option on the left side.
7. In the drop-down menu, you can set this option to “Off” to completely disable the startup sound on your Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X.
Alternatively, you can also set it to “Only with power button or voice.” With this choice, the startup chime should only play when you press the power button located on your system or when you turn on your system by using your voice.

1. Open the Guide menu.
2. Switch tabs until you get to “Profile & system” tab.
3. Select “Settings” from the list of available options.
4. Inside “Settings,” select “General” from the list of options on the left side of the screen.
5. On the right side of the same screen, you need to select “Power mode & startup.”
6. From inside the “General – Power mode & startup” menu, select the “Startup chime” from the list of options available on the left side.
7. In the drop-down menu, you need to set the “Startup chime” to “On” to enable the startup chime.
