What PS5-comaptilbe heatsink should you get for the PNY XLR8 CS3140?
The PNY XLR8 CS3140 does not come with a heatsink, which is required for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.

How to install the PNY XLR8 CS3140 for PS5
In order to inset the PNY XLR8 CS3140 into your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Digital Edition system, you need to take the following steps:
1. If you have any important files stored on the XLR8 CS3140, then you need to move then to another storage. Otherwise, these data will be deleted when you format the SSD for the PS5.
2. Once you are ready, start by turning off your PlayStation 5 console if you haven’t done so already.
3. With the PS5 shut down, remove all cables and accessories attached to it.
4. You should also remove the stand as well.
5. Lay the console down, with the side that has the PS logo facing downwards, on to a soft surface.
6. Position the console so that its backside, which has the HDMI port, is facing you.
7. From your vantage point, put your left hand on the top left corner of the outer cover as well as your right hand on the bottom right corner of the outer cover.
8. Next, you need to lift the bottom right corner of the outer cover with your right hand and then slide it to the left.
You may need to use some force to slide the outer cover off. Make sure that your left hand remains on the top left corner of the outer cover. Otherwise, the cover may come flying off to the left.
9. With the other cover removed, you should see a rectangular metal cover of the M.2 SSD docking bay.
10. Use a crosshead screwdriver to remove the screw and then the metal cover from the docking bay.
11. Inside the docking bay, use a crosshead screwdriver to remove the screw and spacer.
12. Place the spacer you previously removed into the “80” hole of the dock bay.
13. Afterwards, insert the PNY XLR8 CS3140 from a diagonally upwards position into the M.2 slot of your PS5 console.
14. Use a crosshead screwdriver and the screw you previously removed in Step #11 to secure the other end of the XLR8 CS3140 into the “80” hole.
15. Remove the films from the top and bottom of the PNY XLR8 PS5 SSD Cover with Integrated Heatsink.
16. Place the PNY XLR8 PS5 SSD Cover where the metal cover used to be.
17. Use a crosshead screwdriver and the screw you previously removed in Step #10 to secure the new SSD cover.
18. Slide the outer cover back into your console.

How to format the PNY XLR8 CS3140 for PS5
After inserting the PNY XLR8 CS3140 into your console, you can format the solid state drive for your PlayStation 5 console by taking the following steps:
1. Turn on your system.
2. You should get a screen regarding the M.2 SSD Storage.
3. Press the PS button on your controller to use it for navigation.
4. You then need select the Format M.2 SSD option.
5. After the formatting has completed, you should see the sequential reading speed test results.
6. Select the OK option to head to the home screen.
Where to find PNY XLR8 CS3140 in the system menus
After inserting and formatting the PNY XLR8 CS3140, you will be able to find its location in the system menus by doing the following:
1. Head to Settings from the home screen, which you can get to by select the gear icon on the top right.
2. From Settings, select Storage.
3. In the Storage menu, you need to select M.2 SSD Storage on the left side.
4. You should find the PNY XLR8 CS3140 on the right side in the same menu.
5. You can also use the Storage menu to transfer games between different storage options, reformat the CS3140, delete games off of the CS3140 as well as change the default game installation storage option.
