How to fix the Star Wars Jedi Survivor Devastated Settlement bug

When you are going through the Research Tanalorr mission in the Devastated Settlement area while playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you will run into a puzzle where you need use a turret to remove the Koboh Matter in order to open up the air geysers. You can then use the updrafts created by these geysers when riding a Relter in order to boost higher up in the air.

If the second or third geyser doesn’t seem to be activating in this puzzle, then you can take a look at this troubleshooting guide from Seeking Tech to see how you can fix this glitch.

Before we begin, you can find a video of the glitch below (via the István Bíró YouTube channel):

How to fix

According to a post from a representative of the development team at Respawn Entertainment on the official EA Answers HQ website, a patch to fix the updraft bug is in the works and should be released soon.

So, if you are soft locked of progressing further into the game due to this issue, then you should make sure that you have the latest patch downloaded before you start up Star Wars Jedi Survivor on your PC, PS5, PS5 Digital Edition, Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X.

Workarounds

If you don’t feel like waiting for a patch, then there are several workarounds that you can attempt in order to bypass the rest of the puzzle.

If only the third geyser isn’t activated, then you can still use the boost from the second geyser to get up to the Grand Courtyard if you approach it from the right angle. You can find a video of this workaround below (via the WorldJumpin Twitter page):

If the second geyser in the puzzle isn’t activated, then you need to dive bomb into first geyser and then try to double jump your way to the Grand Courtyard at the right angle. You can find the full instructions posted by 4m254wyzrovf from the official EA Answers HQ website below:

Hi Everyone,

I came across this topic because I also had this issue. I’m playing on Xbox Series X.

I had the issue with the 2nd geyser not working. I wasn’t able to do the work around to get to the higher platform but the video that was posted gave me an idea. I circled around the first geyser 2 or 3 times and then dive bombed into it at the highest I could get it. I then flew to the side where the 3rd puzzle is and double jumped up to the ledge. I got SUPER lucky! I think the key is not pull up until right when the creature stops the speed boost. When I solved the 3rd puzzle the geyser worked and I was able to make it up to the platform with the save.

Unfortunately, I was playing on Xbox and was too excited to remember to save the footage. Hopefully, this helps someone. It CAN be done. Took me about 30 minutes.
