I recently got a chance to play around 90 minutes of Gear.Club Unlimited 3 on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Renaissance PR.
You can find my gameplay video below:
You can also check out my first impressions of Gear.Club Unlimited 3 below:
Pros:
- 50 racing tracks from France and Japan.
- Extensive story mode with car and garage customization.
- Highway modes with traffic weaving.
Cons:
- Small frame rate dips.
Overall:
Gear.Club Unlimited 3 is an arcade sim racing game featuring 40 licensed cars along with 50 racing tracks.
The tracks are spread across France and Japan; in fact, the story mode takes place in Japan. As you progress through the campaign, you will participate in various racing events, including the beat the clock challenges and one-on-one duels.
Some of these tracks take place on highways where you need to weave through other cars on the road. These are usually quite intense as you need to race while trying to find space to squeeze through the slower vehicles sharing the same road.
During the campaign, you can purchase and upgrade your cars. Some racing events have specific car requirements. Furthermore, you can customize the layout of your garage, which is primary used to upgrade your vehicles.
The only real issue I have with Gear.Club Unlimited 3 is the small frame rate dips, even on the PlayStation 5 Pro. Thankfully, the dips are still within the Variable Refresh Rate window, which is 48 fps on the PS5 and PS5 Pro. If your TV or screen have VRR, make sure to enable it for this game.
Aside from the small FPS dips, Gear.Club Unlimited 3 is a fun arcade sim racer with a lot of content. The highway tracks are especially quite thrilling to race through. If you are a fan of racing games, then make sure you don’t miss out on this release.
