Final Fantasy V Pixel Remaster: Missable chests and hidden items guide

This Seeking Tech guide will show you the locations for all 90 permanently missable chests, as well as all 16 missable hidden items, in the Pixel Remaster version of Final Fantasy V. Use the following video as a reference to the locations:

Tycoon Meteorite – 1 missable chest

The Tycoon Meteorite has 1 easily missable chest. Make sure you get it before you head off to Galuf’s World.

Ship Graveyard – 8 missable chests

The Ship Graveyard will no longer be accessible when you go to Galuf’s World. So make sure you grab all 8 chests here before leaving Bartz’s World.

Castle Tycoon – 5 missable chests and 9 hidden items

Castle Tycoon will disappear after you meet up with Ghido in the Merged World. Before then, make sure you open the 5 chests and find the 9 hidden items in this location.

Walse – 1 hidden item

Walse contains 1 hidden item. You should grab it before leaving Bartz’ World.

Castle Walse – 1 missable chest and 6 hidden items

Castle Walse is another location that won’t be accessible when you leave Bartz’ World. So make sure you find the 1 chest and 6 hidden items here. In the basement area, you will encounter a tough enemy. If you can’t defeat it, turn encounters off so that you can get the chest and remaining three items without any random encounters.

Tower of Walse – 4 missable chests

The Tower of Walse is a one-time dungeon. You need to get all 4 chests here before heading to the crystal room on the 9th floor.

Karnak Castle – 15 missable chests

Karnak Castle is a one-time only dungeon with a strict time limit. You need to grab all 15 chests here before leaving. You can make things easier by turning off random encounters. If you want to complete your bestiary, make sure you defeat a Seargent during a random encounter first before doing so.

Library of the Ancients – 3 missable chests

The Library of the Ancients contains 3 chests. You should get them before you complete the Pyramid of Moore in the Merged World.

Ronka Ruins – 12 missable chests

Ronka Ruins is a one-time dungeon. You need to get all 12 chests before confronting the boss. The small room with 5 chests has pitfall traps. Follow the video to open all the chests and then intentionally fall off to the floor below.

Underground Waterway – 2 missable chests

The Underground Waterway will be gone in The Merged World. So you should grab the 2 chests here before going to Castle Exdeath for the second time.

Moogle Village – 7 missable chests

The Moogle Village also won’t be accessible in The Merged World. You need to get all 7 chests here before visiting Castle Exdeath for the second time.

Barrier Tower – 4 missable chests

The Barrier Tower is a one-time dungeon. Grab all 4 chests here before interacting with the antenna.

Forest of Moore – 9 missable chests

The first 9 chests in the Forest of Moore are missable. In the third area, grab the four chests on the right side before you head towards the upper left area to trigger an event. Afterwards, you can grab the three remaining chests of this area at any time.

Castle Exdeath – 15 missable chests

Your second visit to Castle Exdeath is a one-time dungeon. You need to get all 15 chests here before heading to the 13th floor.

Fork Tower – 4 missable chests

The Fork Tower is another one-time dungeon with 4 chests. Your party will be separated into two teams. Make sure you grab two chests from each side before you head to the 9th floor.
