Dog Man: Bark in Action – Trophy Guide and Mini Review

I recently got a chance to play through Dog Man: Bark in Action on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Mindscape.

You can find my platinum trophy playthrough below:

Trophy Guide and Road Map:

In order to get the platinum in Dog Man: Bark in Action, you need to find all the badges, rescue Zuzu in all the stages, unlock all friends for the Supa Phone, as well as craft all the costumes.

To find all the badges in the normal stages, you can call in Chief to help you locate them once you unlock him.

In the black and white stages, you need to complete the levels within a time limit. Keep retrying until you get all four badges. Remember that you can sprint by holding down L2.

You also need to beat all mini-bosses and final bosses without getting hit to earn all four badges. Just keep retrying until you familiarize yourself with their attack patterns.

For the Zuzu and Supa Phone trophies, try to explore the stages as thoroughly as possible. Use my video if you are having trouble finding them.

Through your journey, you will find yarn balls. These are used to craft costumes in the Epic Stuff menu. To craft, make sure to claim your rewards from the Missions tab first. The missions are tied to trophies, so you should be able to unlock all of them if you are trophy hunting.

You can find my mini review of Dog Man: Bark in Action below:

Pros:

  • Fun 2D platforming with new twists to keep things fresh.
  • Excellent presentation.
  • Accessibility and Co-op modes.

Cons:

  • None.

Overall:

Dog Man: Bark in Action is a 2D platformer based on the popular multimedia franchise.

Along with Dog Man, you get to switch between Li’l Petey and 80HD. All three characters offer different abilities for combat and exploration. So, you will need to switch early and often.

You can also use your Supa Phone to call in friends for additional support. These characters will help you open new paths in the level, locate missing badges, heal your health, provide combat support, and more.

In terms of gameplay, the controls feel responsive and on point, which is vitally important for a platformer. The 60 stages feel quite varied as new abilities and twists are added to keep the experience fresh and interesting.

Not to mention that the game also supports an accessibility mode for those who want an easier experience. You can also play in local co-op with the second player taking control of a tadpole.

Presentation wise, Bark in Action looks perfect with its comic inspired visuals. Aside from the odd hitch here and there, the game runs perfectly on the PlayStation 5 Pro.

Overall, Dog Man: Bark in Action is a great 2D platformer with lots of fun levels and secrets to unlock. If you are a fan of Dog Man and/or 2D platformers, then make sure you don’t miss out on this excellent game.
