How to fix Mortal Kombat 1 ‘game session has desynchronized’ error

When playing online in Mortal Kombat 1, you may end up getting disconnected from your match with the following error message appearing on the screen:

The game session has desynchronized.

To see how you can potentially fix these disconnection issues in this fighting game, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first step we suggest taking a look at your internet connection. We recommend doing the following:

  • Pause and downloads or streams that may have concurrently running on the same network.
  • If possible, try to use a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi.
  • If you can only use Wi-Fi, then you should make sure that the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough.
  • Power cycle your home networking equipment by turning the devices off, waiting for several minutes and then turning them back on again.

Having a faster internet connection without any congestion may help get rid of most of the desynchronization errors.

2. Make sure you have the latest patch installed for Mortal Kombat 1 if you haven’t done so already.

3. There could also be an issue with the servers. If there are, you will learn about it through the official social media channels for Mortal Kombat, such as its Twitter page.

When it comes to sever problems, you most likely need to wait until the development team fixes the issues before you can play online again without disconnections.

4. If you are playing the game on Steam, then the “game session has desynchronized” pops up frequently in the following scenarios:

  • Playing ranked matches.
  • Selecting rematch.

In these cases, we recommend that you avoid playing ranked matches as well as selecting the Rematch option at the conclusion of the match until there is a new server-side fix and/or patch to install for Mortal Kombat 1.

As a temporary solution, you can try playing online matches with another Steam account to see if doing so will fix the desynchronization.

What to do if you can’t find your Payday 3 pre-order bonus and cosmetic DLCs on PS5

You can unlock a cosmetic downloadable content item by pre-ordering Payday 3. If you get the Silver, Gold or Collector’s Edition of the game, you will also get other bonuses.

If you can’t seem to find these cosmetic DLCs, then you can check out this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech to see how you can locate them.

Before we begin, let’s break down what cosmetic items are included in each edition of this multiplayer heist game:

Payday 3 Standard Edition:

  • Trifecta Lootbag (pre-order only)

Payday 3 Silver Edition:

  • Trifecta Lootbag (pre-order only)
  • Dark Sterling Mask

Payday 3 Gold Edition:

  • Trifecta Lootbag (pre-order only)
  • Dark Sterling Mask
  • Golden Slate Gloves
  • Skull of Liberty Mask

Payday 3 Collector’s Edition:

  • Trifecta Lootbag (pre-order only)
  • Dark Sterling Mask
  • Golden Slate Gloves
  • Skull of Liberty Mask
  • Solidius Mask

If you visit the PlayStation Store listings for Payday 3, then you should see a notification appear saying that the Trifecta Lootbag, Dark Sterling Mask, Solidus Mask, Golden Slate Gloves and Skull of Liberty Mask won’t be activated in-game until October 5, 2023.

According to a statement made by the development team, technical issues are preventing the cosmetics DLCs from showing up in the PS5 version of the game. As a result, you won’t be able to access them at launch.

If you purchase a physical version of Payday 3, you are required to redeem a voucher that came with the game box in order to unlock the cosmetics. However, this code can’t be redeemed until October 5th.

You can find the developer’s statement regarding this issue below (via the official Playday the Game website):

The launch of PAYDAY 3 is the biggest thing we’ve done as a studio so far. And since we don’t do releases of this scale often, we have run into technical issues with cosmetic DLCs on PlayStation 5. As a consequence of this, PS5 players will not have access to their bonus cosmetics or be able to redeem codes for them, which includes the Gold/Silver version specific items, the pre order bonus items, and also the Collector’s Edition bonus items on launch day. As these items are cosmetic, this will not affect PS5 players’ progression or gameplay experience, but we understand that this will still cause frustration within our community. If you have physical sheets with activation codes on them, please keep them safe until the issue is resolved and they can be redeemed as normal.

We are working hard to make sure these will be available to you as soon as possible, and our current ETA is to have this fixed by the 5th of October.

How to fix Payday 3 network error and Nebula data error

When trying to play Payday 3, you may run into the following error codes:

Network Error. No Network Connection.

Nebula Data Error. Failed to Fetch Game Config Data.

You would then be asked to return to the login screen and/or main menu. To see how you can potentially fix both of these connection issues, you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech.

The aforementioned error messages indicate there is a server issue with Payday 3.

Unfortunately, you are required to connect to the servers in order to play the game, even if you are only playing by yourself. So, without an online connection, you will be stuck staring at the “Press Any Button To Start” screen.

The only fix is to simply wait until the game servers are fully operational again. We recommend keeping an eye on the official Payday game Twitter page to find updates if there are any ongoing problems related to the latest installment in the series.

If the servers appear to be fine but you still can’t connect online in Payday 3, then you should make sure that your PC or console is connected to the internet. You should also check to see if the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam or Windows servers aren’t down as well.

Of course, you need to make sure you have the latest patch installed for the game as the new update file may help fix the server connection problems for the online-only game.

You may also want to consider power cycling your networking equipment. To do so, turn off or unplug your router, modem and other networking devices. After waiting several minutes, power them back on again. Once your internet has gone back online, try to start playing Payday 3 to see if you are still seeing the network or Nebula data errors.

How to fix input lag issues in Mortal Kombat 1

You may encounter noticeable delays when it comes to pressing the buttons on your controller and seeing the corresponding action appear on the screen in Mortal Kombat 1. To see how you can reduce the input lag for this reboot, you can take a look at this article from Seeking Tech.

1. To start off, we recommend playing the game with a controller or fighting stick through a wired connection. A wireless connection is slower and, therefore, leads to more input latency.

If you are playing MK1 with the DualSense controller on PlayStation 5, then you should plug the controller into USB port of the console and then go to the PS5’s Settings menu. From there, select Accessories > Controller (General) > Communication Method > Use USB Cable.

2. If you decide to stick with a wireless connection, then you should make sure that there is enough battery life remaining as a low charge could lead to the inputs becoming more unresponsive.

You should also make sure that the gamepad has a direct line of sight to the PC or console. Furthermore, avoid turning on other wireless devices near your play area if possible.

3. You should also check the settings of your television screen or monitor.

Make sure that you have the Game Mode picture setting enabled if you haven’t done so already as it will reduce the input delay. You should also avoid turning on any A.I. picture settings, like frame interpolation, as these may add to the latency.

4. In Mortal Kombat 1, you should also make sure that you go to Settings > Kontrols > Input Window Timing. Afterwards, make sure that this setting is set to Long.

By doing so, the game will extend the amount of time it will allocate to recognizing your inputs when it comes to activating special moves. This should be helpful if the latency is messing up your timing.

5. If you haven’t done so already, make sure you have the latest patch downloaded and installed for MK1.

An updated version of the game may fix any of the input lag issues you may be encountering in the fighting game.

How to fix Lies of P flickering issues on Xbox Series X and S

You may encounter some visual flickering when playing the Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S version of Lies of P. To see how you can potentially fix this graphical issue, you can take a look at this troubleshooting guide from Seeking Tech.

1. For the first potential fix, you can try limiting the refresh rate to 60 Hz if you are playing on a television set or monitor that can refresh at up to 120 Hz. You can do so by taking the following steps:

  • Open the Settings menu of your Series X or Series S. If you are playing Lies of P, you can press the Xbox button and then select Home from the guide menu. In the home screen, select the gear icon to head into Settings.
  • In Settings, go to General > TV & display options > Refresh rate.
  • Select 60 Hz from the drop-down menu.

2. Playing Lies of P with Variable Refresh Rate enabled may also cause the game to flicker.

To disable VRR, go back to the Settings menu of your Xbox. From there, navigate over to General > TV & display options > Video modes. Finally, make sure that the “Allow variable refresh rate” setting is set to Off.

3. If you haven’t done so already, make sure you download and install the latest patch for Lies of P.

A new update may resolve the flickering, which should allow you to play the game by taking advantage of the 120 Hz refresh rate and/or with VRR without any issues.

Toggle whether Story Mode cutscenes, Fatalities, Intros, and Victories include audio narration describing what is happening on screen.

6. Make sure that the Descriptive Audio setting is set to Off.

7. You can then exit out of the Settings menu in MK1.

You should no longer hear the screen reader when browsing through the in-game menus. The narrator that describes the action in cut scenes should be muted as well.
