In Act III, the entire world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 opens for exploration. While you can head directly into the final dungeon in Lumiere, you will miss out on some important optional story events that fully flesh out the characters.
This article will show you the best course of action to take when it comes to experiencing the story of Clair Obscur.
1. Maelle’s Quest at Camp
For the first step, make sure you head into Camp and then talk to Maelle. Eventually, you will be told to go to The Reacher.
At the top of this dungeon, there will be an important boss and story event. Not to mention that you will also be gaining a lot of levels when exploring this dungeon as well.
You should also make sure everyone if your party have the Painted Power Lumina equipped to go beyond the 9,999 damage limit. Otherwise, a lot of the fights in The Reacher and other areas in Act III will be extremely difficult.
Optional Area:
If you couldn’t beat the boss in Maelle’s Quest, then you can go to Frozen Hearts. You should gain a lot of experience and Grandiose Chroma Catalysts for weapon upgrades.
If you haven’t been using them, then you should make sure to level up Verso and Monoco.
2. Lune’s Quest at Camp
The next quest that you should take on is Lune’s at Camp. This will lead to a boss fight.
3. Esquie’s Quest at Camp
Esquie’s quest at camp will take you into a boss battle with only Verso.
4. Monoco’s Quest at Camp
Monoco’s Quest also leads to a boss fight. This is the hardest boss of the character quests, and you will be limited to just using Verso and Monoco.
5. Bringing All Character Relationship Levels to 7
After Completing all of the aforementioned character quests, bring their relationship level to 7 to complete their story.
Keep in mind that Sciel’s relationship isn’t tied to any quest, so you can conclude her story by simply talking to her.
6. Flying Mansion
Next, you should head over to Flying Mansion. This area has a rather important story event that you shouldn’t miss before you head into the final story dungeon.
After doing all of the above, then you should experience a vast majority of the story. You can then head to the final dungeon to beat the final boss.
After Beating the Game
After you beat the game in Lumiere, you should try to track down all the journals, since these provide additional plot details.
While you can do this before beating the story, finding the journals can be time consuming and difficult. Not to mention that you must beat the hardest boss in the game to access one of these.
