Biomechanical Toy on PS5 Pro: Mini Review

I recently got a chance to play through Biomechanical Toy on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by QUByte.

You can check out my full cheats-assisted playthrough below:

Pros:

  • Fun run-and-gun arcade shooter that still holds up.
  • Rewind and cheats.

Cons:

  • Minor slow down.

Overall:

Biomechanical Toy is an arcade run-and-gun where you play as a humanoid toy. It should draw a lot of similarities with the Metal Slug series.

Despite being originally released in 1995, the gameplay holds up tremendously well. The controls feel snappy while the enemies, including bosses, seemed balanced.

The console port also includes several quality of life features like the ability to rewind time as well as being able to create save states.

You can also enable cheats like infinite ammo, infinite lives and invincibility. Cheats do not disable trophies or achievements.

Overall, Biomechanical Toy is a great run-and-gun arcade game. If you are a fan of Metal Slug and other games from the same genre, then this game is an absolute must play.
