The Trolley Solution on PS5 Pro: Mini Review

I recently got a chance to play through The Trolley Solution on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Take IT Studio!

You can find my gameplay video below:

You can also take a look at my mini review for The Trolley Solution below:

Pros:

  • Minimalist visuals and calming soundtrack.
  • Diverse set of mini-games.
  • Multiple trolley problem variations.

Cons:

  • Some mini-games can be confusing and/or frustrating.

Overall:

The Trolley Solution is a mini-game collection based around The Trolley Problem.

The basis of The Trolley Problem revolves around a trolley that is about to run over five people. Standing next to the lever, you can change the trolley’s direction, which will save five people but will kill one on the other track.

Half of the stages force you to decide someone’s wait with the runaway trolley. Your choices can lead to optional levels and different endings.

Outside of levels that focuses on making a choice, there are 20 stages that are mini-games. The game features a diverse set, from a Tamagotchi clone to a visual novel. You will be constantly surprise when you enter a new level.

With that said, not all mini-games are winner, however. Some of these can be quite confusing, while others may control poorly, leading to some frustration especially in the longer ones.

Thankfully, all of the mini-games are optional and can be skipped as long as you choose to do nothing in the previous level when dealing with a Trolley Problem.

Outside from a few frustrating mini-games, The Trolley Solution offers a fun and unique experience that often places you in a moral dilemma.
