I recently got a chance to playthrough Aleesha’s Tower on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Penguin Pop Games.
You can find my gameplay video, which also shows you how to get the platinum trophy, below:
Trophy tips:
- You only need to beat half the stages to unlock the platinum.
- Make sure you kill every enemy type you encounter, including Ceiling Water Monster that hangs up on the ceiling.
- All the trophies can be earned in Easy Mode.
You can find my mini-review of Aleesha’s Tower below:
Pros:
- Simple, yet fun old-school action platformer.
- Multiple difficulty options.
Cons:
- May be a little short for some players.
Overall:
Aleesha’s Tower is a 2D action platformer that pays homage to many of the same games released during the 8-bit and 16-bit era. You journey through six stages, defeating enemies and dodging obstacles that stand in your way.
There are two difficulty options available: Easy and Original. In Easy, you get more health, have more attack powerr and won’t die from pitfalls/boulders. In Original, you get less health, have less attack power and will die from pitfalls/boulders.
While the game is a lot more challenging in Original, it shouldn’t be too difficult as long as you take your time and look for traps.
Although the game is fun, it is also very short. I managed to get the platinum trophy in a little bit over 20 minutes and finished the rest of the games in a little over 40 minutes total. With that said, I did all that in Easy Mode.
In Original difficulty, the game length could be a lot more, since dying means you have to restart the sub-stage.
If you don’t mind the short length, then Aleesha’s Tower is a fun 2D action platformer with responsive controls.
