I recently got to play through Steamboat Incident, thanks to a review code provided by Ratalaika Games. You can find my gameplay video, which includes getting the platinum trophy, below:
Trophy tips:
- You actually do not have to beat the game to unlock all the trophies. If you are playing only for the trophies, then you can avoid picking up the wheel parts.
- Use the fish tuna can you find throughout the boat if you need to heal but make sure you are in a safe spot since the game won’t pause when you look at your inventory.
- When jumping across the boxes, you need to be extremely careful as falling off means instant death. Look down at your feet to get a better perspective when jumping.
- The passcode for the What’s the Code trophy is 1743.
- While not required for a trophy, the lock combination for the lock box is 322.
You can find my mini-review of the game below:
Pros:
- Unique horror spin on Steamboat Willie.
- Creepy stalker enemy.
Cons:
- Some texture pop-in.
Overall:
Steamboat Incident is a first-person horror game inspired by Steamboat Willie, which recently went into the public domain. In the game, you must escape a ship with a creepy creature stalking you throughout.
You can run, hide underneath tables, or throw cans to distract the stalker as you navigate the ship to find the wheel parts.
While the walkthrough suggests a short game, it took me around two to three hours to beat to find everything without a guide.
The only downside is the texture pop-in for certain distant objects. While rare, it can be very distracting and immersion breaking.
Overall, Steamboat Incident is a great horror game with unique aesthetics. If you are a fan of the genre, then make sure to check this out.
