I recently got a chance to play through Village of the Curse on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review code provided by Sometimes You.
You can find my gameplay video, which shows you how to unlock the platinum trophy, below:
Trophy tips:
- You unlock all but three trophies by simply beating the game.
- For the Exhausted trophy, hold down the run button until it unlocks.
- For the Flicker trophy, turn off and turn on your flashlight ten times.
- For the Lights Out trophy, leave your flashlight turned off for one minute.
You can read my mini-review of this game below:
Pros:
- Creepy atmosphere with a lot of surprises.
- Easy trophies.
Cons:
- Lack of story.
Overall:
Village of the Curse is a short first-person adventure game where you explore an abandoned village at night.
Although you can’t die at all, you still get an eerie feeling due to the creepy atmosphere. The occasional jump scares will also keep you on your toes.
Village of the Curse is quite short, taking maybe around an hour the first time through if you are playing blindly. The trophies are also pretty easy to get as you will earn almost all of them by simply beating the game.
The only real negative is the lack of story. It would have been nice to see more context added to the abandoned village.
Even with the almost non-existent story, Village of the Curse is a fun adventure game, especially if you are into horror. While short, it has a cheap price tag that is well worth the asking price.
