This tutorial will explain how you can beat Typhon in the Coliseum of Final Fantasy VI.
This fight depends a lot on luck as you won’t have direct control over your character.
To increase your chances for this arena battle, you should use Locke. For his relics, you should equip Genji Glove and Master’s Scroll. As for weapons, you need to use Ultima Weapon and Valiant Knife.
Next, you should increase his strength by as much as possible. To do so, equip either the Bismarck or Alexander Esper to him as these will give him 2 additional Strength points when he levels up. If he is strong enough, then you should be able to beat Typhon in one turn.
For the coliseum fight, Typhon will use Snort 75% of the time. Otherwise, he will be using a regular attack. When he uses Snort, you won’t lose the item you wager. So you can just restart the fight again.
When Typhon does a regular attack, Locke will need to do a physical attack, which should result in him attacking 8 times. If Locke does any other action, then you will most likely end up losing the fight using the aforementioned Bismarck or Alexander Esper.
If you can’t beat Typhon after having Locke attacking 8 times in one turn, then you need to increase his Strength by level grinding.
