What to do when Fujifilm Instax Mini EVO is not taking pictures

When using the Fujifilm Instax Mini EVO, you may find that you are unable to take any pictures.

1. To begin, you need to make sure that the internal battery of your instant photo camera is charged.

For the uninformed, you need to charge the battery for the Instax Mini EVO before you can use it for the first time.

If you previously left your camera turned on, then it will turn itself off after some time have passed since you last interacted with it. In order to turn it back on in this scenario, you need to first move the power switch from the “On” position to the “Off” position. Afterwards, you need to move the same switch from the “Off” position to the “On” position to turn on your camera gain.

2. You should also make sure that the Fujifilm Instax Mini EVO hasn’t been damaged.

The camera should be used within a temperature range of 41 ºF to 104 ºF (or 5 ºC to 40 ºC) as well as a humidity range of 20% to 80% with no condensation.

3. If the LCD screen of the camera is completely frozen while you are trying to take a picture, then make sure you press the Reset button.

You can find this button when you open the bottom cover, which is the same area where the charging port and microSD card slot is located.

4. If the internal storage of the Fujifilm Instax Mini EVO is full, then you won’t be able to take a picture.

You can erase a specific image or all images from the internal storage by going to the Playback Menu and then selecting the Erase option. To get to the Playback Menu from the Shotting Menu, press the Playback button.

5. If you are using a microSD card for storing photos instead, then you need to make sure that the memory card is damaged-free and completely formatted for use with the Fujifilm Instax Mini EVO.

Keep in mind that if you make any changes to the files and folders on the microSD card after it has been formatted for the Instax Mini EVO, then the camera may not be able to recognize the content on the memory card unless you re-format the card.

You also won’t be able to take a picture if the microSD card is too full. To delete images, head over to the Playback Menu and then selecting the Erase option.

6. Last but not least, make sure you know the correct way of taking a picture.

In order to take a picture, we recommend that you press and hold the shutter button half way down so that you can focus the Fujifilm Instax Mini EVO on the subject of your photo. The square will turn green and you should hear an audio chime that will let you know if the camera is focused on the subject.

Once the camera is focused, press the shutter button all the way down to take the photo.
