What to do if PS3 trophies are not showing up on PS5

You can use your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console to play PS3 games through cloud streaming via the PlayStation Plus Premium service. Some of these retro games also come with trophy support.

If you think that you are earning trophies for a specific PS3 game but they aren’t show up on your PS5, then you can take a look at this troubleshooting article from Seeking Tech to see what you can do.

1. As we stated above, not all PS3 game support trophies. Therefore, we recommend searching through Google to see if the game you are having issues with actually has a trophy list.

2. If the PS3 game has a trophy list but they aren’t popping up when you are earning them, then we suggest checking out the trophy descriptions again to see if you are actually meeting the specific requirements.

3. It is also important to note that some trophies may be glitched and can’t be earn no matter what actions you choose to take.

4. If you are for sure that you should be earning trophies when streaming PS3 games on your PlayStation 5 system, then you can try restarting the stream by taking the following steps:

  • While streaming a PS3 game on your PS5 console, press the PS button to bring up the quick menu.
  • In the quick menu, select the Now Streaming card.
  • Next, you need to select the Close Game option.
  • After closing the game, open it again from the home screen menu of your console.
  • Once you are done restarting the game, you can try viewing its trophy list to see if they are now unlocked.
  • If they aren’t unlocked, then you may want to try meeting the unlock requirements again to see if it will work this time around.

4. You may also need to manually sync the PS3 trophies from the game to your PlayStation Network account. In order to do so, you need to do the following:

  • While streaming the PlayStation 3 game, press the PS button and then select the Now Streaming card.
  • Afterwards, select the Show/Hide PS3 Menu option.

  • You should now be in the classic XrossMediaBar menu of a virtual PlayStation 3. Here, you need to navigate over to the PlayStation Network tab.
  • From the PlayStation Network tab, you should then select Trophy Collection.
  • Wait for the syncing process to complete and then search for your game from the list.
  • Hopefully, the list should show your earned trophies.

5. You should also be able to find PS3 trophies directly from the PS5 menu. You can do so by taking the following steps:

  • To start off, make sure you are in the home screen of your PlayStation 5. You can get there quickly by pressing and holding the PS logo button on your controller.
  • From the home screen, select your profile picture on the top right side.
  • In the small window menu, you should then select Trophies.
  • The Trophies menu should you the trophy progress for the most recent games, including PS3 games you streamed through PlayStation Plus Premium.
