I recently got a chance to play around an hour of Treasure Tigers on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review code provided by Take IT Studio.
You can check out my gameplay and first impressions below:
Pros:
- Tense survivor horror.
- Intensity ramps up hour-by-hour and day-by-day.
Cons:
- Staring at tiger does not always work.
Overall:
Treasure Tiger is a survivor horror game similar to the likes of Friday Night at Freddy’s. The major difference is that you are unemployed.
To make money, you have to use a sketchy slots-based phone app. At the same time, Treasure Tiger is trying to invade your home. If you want to keep him out, you have to do various tasks like closing windows, flipping the power switch, and turning off cursed televisions.
If Treasure Tiger manages to make his way inside, you have to quickly find the monster and look at him until he goes away. Otherwise, he will eventually do a sneak attack jump scare, which forces you to start all over again.
While the game can get quite intense, it is a little bit buggy when it comes to finding and dispelling the monster. During my playthrough, there were multiple instances where I was able to locate and stare directly at Treasure Tiger, and he still did a sneak attack. Hopefully, this will get patched up in a future update.
Even with the potential glitch, Treasure Tiger is still a fun survivor horror game that requires a lot of memorization and quick reflexes. If you are a fan of similar titles like FNAF, then you should definitely give this game a try.
