MXGP 26: The Official Game on PS5 Pro – First Impressions

I recently got a chance to play around an hour of MXGP 26: The Official Game, thanks to a review copy provided by Renaissance PR.

You can find my gameplay video below:

You can also find my first impressions of MXGP 26 below:

Pros:

  • 19 diverse motorcross tracks.
  • Multiple difficulty and assist options.
  • Track deformation.

Cons:

  • No career mode.

Overall:

After skipping last year’s release, MXGP is back as the official game has been rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5.

Visually, the game looks great and runs smoothly in performance mode on the PlayStation 5 Pro. The track deformation, especially, looks great as the dirt gets worn down the deeper you go into a race. So, it looks like the change in game engines is well worth the effort.

In terms of modes, MXGP 26: The Official Game features a Time Attack, Grand Prix, Championship, and Multiplayer modes. Unfortunately, no career mode is available.

With that said, the game does offer multiple assist options as well as a few A.I. difficulty settings. As someone who isn’t familiar with the motorcross sport and videogame, I was able to get into the game right away.

In total, MXGP 26 offers 19 official tracks in total. All of these have their own quirks and personalities. So far, it has been fun figuring out the optimal turns on tough corners as well as trying not to crash on high jumps.

Overall, MXGP 26: The Official Game is quite an enjoyable motorcross racing game with plenty of accessibility features for more casual players. If you are into racing games, then make sure you give MXGP a shot.
