The following locations contain permanently missable chests depending on where you are in the story:
- Altair – 1 missable chest
- Dreadnought – 10 missable chests
- Leviathan – 5 missable chests
- Fynn – 8 missable chests
- Cyclone – 8 missable chests
- Castle Palamecia – 8 missable chests
The Altair chest must be opened before you complete the Mysidian Tower dungeon. The eight missable chests in Fynn are extremely time limited, as you can only get them when you hatch the wyvern egg but before you complete the Cyclone dungeon.
The Dreadnought, Leviathan, Cyclone and Castle Palamecia dungeons are one-time locations. So, you should make sure you grab all the chests before beating them.
