Manafinder on PS5 Pro: First Impressions

I got a chance to try out Manafinder on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review code provided by Ratalaika Games.

You can find my gameplay video on the JRPG below:

Manafinder is an indie game that takes inspiration from 16-bit JRPGs. In fact, the camera angle during combat resembles the classic Phantasy Star games.

While the turn-based combat seems simple at first, the game slowly introduces new twists. During the first hour alone, you will learn about using different weapons, Manafinder’s equivalent to limit breaks, customization options when leveling up, and ordering your dog to attack a target.

Manafinder also stands out from other JRPGs by being quite cinematic. The game uses still scenes, that are still pixelated, of characters to illustrate some of the more poignant moments in the story.

Based on what I played so far, Manafinder has the making of being a great JRPG. If you are a fan of this genre, make sure to check it out.
