While this can be done as a child or adult, you are able to slow down time as an adult, making it far easier.
During the mini-game, focus on the rings being by the kids thrown first. The kid will yell out before they start throwing one.
The hardest ring to hit will be the one thrown into the air. Try to aim a little bit above the waterfall and at the top edge of the ring. It will take several attempts to get the timing right. Use the following video as a guide:
If you fail to get all rings at any point, you could restart the checkpoint immediately from the menu.
