How to level up your PlayStation Stars account (Normal and Fast Methods)

This Seeking Tech guide will show you the normal and fast methods to increasing your PlayStation Stars level.

If you haven’t done so already, make sure you sign up for this rewards program with your PSN account. You should then be able to start leveling up.

  • Level 1 is the default level that you start off with.
  • To get to Level 2, you need to buy 1 game from the PlayStation Store and earn 1 uncommon trophy.
  • To get to Level 3, you need to purchase 2 games from the PlayStation Store and earn 32 uncommon trophies.
  • To get to Level 4, you need to buy 4 games and earn 128 uncommon trophies.

It is also very important to note that your Level will reset at some point. According to PlayStation, your level will remain the same for the remainder of the calendar year, plus 13 additional months.

In order to level up quickly, you can simply buy any full price game from the PlayStation Store for that part of the requirement. Your purchase can include extremely cheap games.

The uncommon trophies requirement is a lot harder to achieve in a timely manner. To get this to register, you need to earn a trophy that less than 50% of players have earned. This will require multiple videogames that don’t have extremely easy trophies.

If you don’t have a backlog of videogames to earn trophies, then you may want to subscribe to PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium in order to gain access to hundreds of titles for trophy hunting.

Most of the videogames with trophy support from the Classics catalog are great options, since you can use rewind and save states. These titles also have a separate trophy list for the PS4 and PS5 versions. The easiest of these classic games is Pinball Heroes, which takes around 2 hours to platinum.

Some classic titles also have cheats that you can use to earn trophies as well. For instance, Jak 2 and 3 have a debug menu cheat that you can use to unlock a bunch of trophies at once.

If you have a PS4 game that supports cross-save with the PS5 version, then you may be able to get your trophies to automatically pop when you load your save file. This can happen with Ghost of Tsushima, Spiderman Remastered, Miles Morales and many other games.
