When trying to launch Starfield on your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, you may end up seeing the following error message:

Why you are seeing the “You’re too early” message
The reason why you are seeing this error is due to you not having access to Starfield. For the uninformed, the game has two separate release dates.
The early access release date is September 1, 2023. To play the game early, you need to purchase the Premium Edition or Constellation Edition of the game. Alternatively, you can buy the Premium Edition Upgrade if you own the standard edition or downloaded the standard edition from Game Pass.
So, if you only have the standard version of Starfield, you have to wait until September 6, 2023, in order to start playing Starfield.
How to fix the “You’re too early” error in Starfield
If you have the Premium Edition or Constellation Edition of Starfield, then you should double check to see if you have the Premium Edition Upgrade downloaded on the Microsoft Store App on your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S console.
Keep in mind that the Premium Edition Upgrade comes with a voucher for the Premium Edition Upgrade. So, make sure you input the store in the Microsoft Store App in order to unlock all of the premium edition content.

If you downloaded Starfield through Game Pass and then purchased the Premium Edition Upgrade, then it is important to note that you must remain subscribed to the Game Pass service if you want to keep playing Starfield. Of course, you can also purchase the standard edition of the game outright if you don’t want to stay subbed to the service.
If you only bought the standard edition or downloaded Starfield from Game Pass without getting the Premium Edition Upgrade, then you won’t be able to launch the game until September 6, 2023.
The exact launch time worldwide is 12:00 AM GMT on Sept. 6. In the U.S., this means that you can launch the game starting on 5:00 PM PST or 8:000 PM EST on September 5th.
