How to fix Samsung QN85B and QN90B remote issues

The Samsung QN85B and QN90B Neo QLED 4K TVs come with the TM2280E remote controller. If the remote is responding slowly, or is simply not working at all, then you can take a look at this troubleshooting article at Seeking Tech to see what you can do to fix your issues.

Before we go on, it should be noted that this guide is based on the 55”, 65”, 75” and 85” screen sizes of the QN85B and QN90B series.

1. The first step that can be taken is to make sure that there isn’t anything blocking the sensor of your remote as well as the receiver on your television set.

2. You should also make sure that there aren’t any physical objects that may be blocking the direct line of sight in between the TM2280E and your QN85B or QN90B.

3. Other wireless devices, such as a Wi-Fi router or microwave oven, may interfere with the communication between the remote and television set.

In this case, you can either try to turn off the other wireless devices or move them to a different room.

4. The distance between the TM2280E and Samsung Neo QLED 4K TV may also be too big, which may lead to a weak signal.

Therefore, you can try moving the remote closer to the television set to see if the remote controller is more responsive.

5. An overly bright room may also cause issues; thus, you can try moving the TV in a darker room to see if the remote is more responsive.

6. You can also try reconnecting the TM2280E to the QN85B or QN90B.

In order to do so, you need to press and hold both the Back and Play/Pause buttons at the same time for at least 3 seconds.

7. You should also make sure that your remote still have plenty of battery life as low battery levels may cause it to work slowly or not at all.

In order to check the battery level of your remote, you can press the home button and then go to Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Power and Energy Saving > Available Remote Battery.

If the battery life for the TM2280E is low, then you can recharge by using plugging the USB Type-C cable into its USB Type-C port and the other end of the USB cable to a power source.

Alternatively, you can turn the remote over and then place it over a light source to recharge using the solar panel located on the back of the device.
