How to fix LG A2, B2, C2 and G2 auto brightness issues

When watching a video or playing a videogame on your LG A2, B2, C2 or G2 OLED television set, you may notice that the screen brightness may seemingly change at random.

Before we start, we should note that this guide should be based on all screen sizes for the 2022 LG A2, B2, C2 and G2 OLED series, which include the following models:

1. The first step we recommend taking is to make sure that you didn’t enable the Energy Saving Step feature. In order to see whether or not it has been turned off, you need to take the following steps:

  • Open the Settings menu on your A2, B2, C2 or G2.
  • From the Settings menu, select General.
  • In General, select OLED Care.
  • You then need to select Device Self Care.
  • Next, you need to select Energy Saving.
  • Afterwards, select Energy Saving Step.
  • In the Energy Saving Step menu, make sure that this setting is set to Off.

2. We also suggest disabling any AI video processing features of your LG OLED. In order to do turn off these functions, you need to do the following:

  • Head over to the Settings menu on your TV.
  • In Settings, go to General.
  • Next, head over to AI Service.
  • After getting to the AI Service menu, you need to make sure that AI Picture Pro, AI Brightness Settings and AI Genre Selection are all turned off.

3. You may also want to disable Adjust Logo Brightness, if you have this feature turned on.

To do so, you need to take the following steps:

  • Go to the Settings menu of your LG A2, B2, C2 or G2.
  • Next, head to General.
  • You then need to select OLED Care.
  • Afterwards, select OLED Panel Care.
  • In the OLED Panel Care, select Adjust Logo Brightness.
  • Lastly, make sure that the Adjust Logo Brightness is set to Off.

4. Furthermore, we recommend that you turn off Auto Dynamic Contrast as well if you have it enabled.

In order to do so, you need to do the following:

  • To start off, go to the Settings menu of your OLED TV.
  • Next, you need to head to Picture.
  • In the Picture menu, select Advanced Settings.
  • You then need to select Brightness.
  • From the Brightness menu, select Auto Dynamic Contrast.
  • Finally, make sure that the Auto Dynamic Contrast setting is set to Off.
