The Samsung Freestyle can be connected to the Internet to perform firmware updates, get support and use apps.

When trying to connect the portable projector online, however, you may run into the following problems:

  • Wireless network connection failed.
  • Unable to connect to a wireless access
    point.
  • Unable to connect to the network.
  • Connected to a local network, but not to the Internet.

To see how you can fix these Internet issues, you can take a look at this troubleshooting guide at Seeking Tech.

1. To begin, make sure that you correctly set up the Internet connection on the Samsung Freestyle.

To see how you can set up a Wi-Fi connection, then you can take a look at tutorial from the top of this article.

2. If you are using Wi-Fi connection, then you can try moving the Freestyle closer to the Wi-Fi router.

3. Furthermore, avoid placing any solid objects in between the Wi-Fi router and the projector as it will weakened or completely block the Wi-Fi signal.

4. You may also want to turn off or remove any nearby wireless devices as these could also interfere with the Wi-Fi connection between your router and the Samsung Freestyle.

5. Another step you can try is to power cycle the portable projector. In order to do so, you need to take the following steps:

  • Turn off the Freestyle.
  • Unplug the Freestyle from the power outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the Freestyle back into the power outlet.
  • Press and hold the power button on the projector for at least 3 seconds.
  • Retest the Internet connection.

6. Moreover, you can try power cycling your Wi-Fi router by doing the following:

  • Unplug the Wi-Fi router from the power outlet.
  • Wait for at least 1 minute
  • Plug the Wi-Fi router back into the power outlet.
  • Wait for the Wi-Fi router to connect to your internet service provider.
  • Retest the Internet connection on your Samsung Freestyle.

7. If you are still getting the “Wireless network connection failed,” “Unable to connect to a wireless access point” and/or “Unable to connect to the network” error messages, then you can use the Smart Hub Connection Test function by taking the following steps:

  • Press the home button from the Samsung Smart Remote of your Freestyle projector.
  • Select Menu, which is associated with the icon that has three horizontal lines.
  • Select Settings, which is associated with the icon that looks like a gear wheel.
  • Select Support.
  • Next, you need to select Support.
  • Select Device Care.
  • You then need to select Self Diagnosis.
  • Finally, select Smart Hub Connection Test.

8. If you are getting the “Connected to a local network, but not to the Internet” error message, then you can try doing the following:

Make sure that the Ethernet cable is connected to the external LAN port of your router.

You should also check your IP Settings by pressing the home button on the projector’s remote control, selecting Menu and then selecting Settings. Afterwards, select All Settings > Connection > Network > Network Status > IP Settings.

If none of the aforementioned solutions help with resolving your Internet connection issues, then we recommend contacting Samsung for additional support.
