You are able to connect a computer, laptop, phone, tablet, streaming player, game console and other external devices to the Samsung Freestyle.
If you are having issues with connecting these input sources to the portable projector, then you can take a look at this troubleshooting guide at Seeking Tech.
1. The first step you can take is to make sure you are using the right HDMI cable if you are using a wired connection.
To check out which cable can be used with the Freestyle, you can take a look at this compatibly guide.
2. You should also make sure that the external device is turned on and is securely connected to the portable projector.
3. Moreover, make sure you are using the right input.
In order to do so, push the home button on the remote of the Samsung Freestyle and then select Menu (which has the three lines icon). Afterwards, select Connected Devices > Sources.
4. If you are seeing the “Mode Not Supported” message appear on the projected image, then you can try to change the output resolution on the device that you are trying to connect the projector to.
For the uninformed, the Samsung Freestyle should support the following resolutions:
- 640 x 480
- 720 x 400
- 800 x 600
- 832 x 624
- 1024 x 768
- 1152 x 864
- 1152 x 870
- 1280 x 800
- 1280 x 1024
- 1440 x 900
- 1600 x 900
- 1680 x 1050
- 1920 x 1080
5. If you still aren’t getting any screen to show up from your external device, then you can try using the Connection Guide by pressing the home button on the remote control of the Freestyle and then going to Menu. Next, select Connected Devices and then Connection Guide.
6. You can also use the HDMI Troubleshooting feature by taking the following steps:
Press the home button on the projector’s remote control and then select Menu. You should then select Connected Devices > Connection Guide > Video Device > HDMI Troubleshooting.
7. If you are having issues with the screen mirroring with a PC, then you need to press the home button on the Samsung Smart Remote, select Menu and then Settings (which has a gear cog icon). Afterwards, you need to select Connected Devices > Connection Guide > PC > Screen Sharing (Wireless). Follow the instructions on-screen to see if you can screen mirror your PC correctly.
8. If you can’t screen mirror or tablet, then you can press the home button on the remote, select Menu and then Settings. Next, you need to go to Connected Devices > Connection Guide > Smartphone > Screen Sharing (Smart View). Follow the on-screen steps to see if you can get this feature to work on your mobile device.
9. If you are connecting your PC to the Freestyle via HDMI, then you may get blank and/or flickering issues.
To potentially fix both of these problems, press the home button on the projector’s remote, go to Menu and then go to Settings. You then need to select All Settings > Connection > External Device Manager > Input Signal Plus.
