How to fix Bluetooth audio skipping and dropouts when using INZONE H7 and INZONE H9

The INZONE H7 Wireless Gaming Headset and INZONE H9 Wireless Noise Canceling Gaming Headset can be used with Bluetooth. When using this connection type, however, the audio may skip or dropout.

To see how you can fix these audio playback issues, you can check out this article from Seeking Tech.

1. To start off, make sure that you aren’t covering the Bluetooth antenna of your INZONE H7 or INZONE H9 witch stickers, clothing or other materials.

For the uninformed, the Bluetooth antenna is located on the left ear cup of these headsets. Of course, you should also make sure that you aren’t blocking the Bluetooth antenna on the connected device as well.

2. You can also try moving the INZONE H7 or INZONE H9 closer to the connected Bluetooth device as doing so may strengthen the communication, resulting in a potentially smoother audio playback.

3. While the INZONE H7 Headset or INZONE H9 Noise Canceling Gaming Headset have a Bluetooth range of 30 feet (or 10 meters), it could shorten significantly if you have any physical objects that are blocking the line of sight.

Therefore, you should make sure that there aren’t any walls, metals and/or other objects that is blocking the communication path.

Keep in mind that your own body may also block the Bluetooth connection. If you are using the headset with your smartphone, then you should move the phone to your left side so that the signal won’t have to go through your body to reach the INZONE H7 or INZONE H9.

4. If you have a Wi-Fi, microwave or other wireless devices that emit electromagnetic waves close by, then these may cause the Bluetooth audio to cut off or skip.

To prevent this from happening, you can either more to a different location or close the other wireless devices.

5. You can also try closing any apps you have running if you have your headset connected to a device that can run multiple applications at the same time.

6. Furthermore, you can also try restarting the connected device as doing so will close all the opened apps as well as refresh your Bluetooth connection.

7. Another potential fix it to set the Bluetooth connection of your INZONE H7 Wireless Gaming Headset or INZONE H9 Wireless Noise Canceling Gaming Headset to prioritize stability.

In order to do so, you need to download and then install the INZONE Hub on a computer. Afterwards, you need to connect your headset to the same computer. Once you have everything setup, change the Bluetooth Quality Setting to Priority on Stable Connection by using the hub.

8. You should also look at the Bluetooth settings of the connected device to see if there is a way to prioritize a stable connection.

9. You may also want to consider resetting your INZONE H7 or INZONE H9. If that doesn’t work, then you might want to do a factory reset as well.

To see how you can reset and re-initialize these Sony wireless gaming headsets, you can follow the steps laid out in this walkthrough.
