You can play the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions of Forza Motorsport with a keyboard and mouse. To see how you can set up this control method for the racing simulator, you can take a look at this tutorial from Seeking Tech.
1. For the first step, you need to connect a keyboard and mouse to your Series X or Series S. Keep in mind that these consoles do not support Bluetooth.
You may still be able to use a wireless keyboard and/or mouse if you have a wireless or Bluetooth USB dongle that you can connect to one of the USB ports of the Xbox. Otherwise, we recommend using USB wired for the connection.
2. The game should automatically detect the keyboard and mouse inputs. As a result, you should be able to use them right away to navigate the menus and control your car.
With that said, the Xbox controller needs to stay connected to the console. If it disconnects, then you will see a message asking you to re-connect. We recommend connecting the gamepad via a USB cable to one of the available USB ports of the console so that you don’t waste the battery life of the wireless controller.
3. To find the key binds for Forza Motorsport, head into the Settings menu.
4. From Settings, use the “[“ and “]” keys to change tabs until you get to Keyboard. You can also use the LB and RB buttons of the connected Xbox controller.
You need to scroll to the right to find the Keyboard section.
5. In the Keyboard menu, you will be able to view the current key bindings and make any adjustments.
Keep in mind that the mouse input can’t be used outside of the menus.
6. If you decide to change some of the key bindings, exit the Settings menu and then select Save when asked if you want to keep your changes.
