The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S both come with a power button that will lit up when the consoles are powered on. This display light can be overly bright and distracting, however.

Update the firmware of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S systems
Before we being, it is important to note that the ability to adjust the brightness intensity of the power button was only added just recently in a new firmware update for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles.
To manually update your system, you can do the following:
1. Turn on your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S.
2. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the “Guide” quick menu.
3. With the “Guide” menu open, press the RB button on the controller several times to get to the “Profile & system” tab.
4. After getting to the “Profile & system” tab, scroll down and then select “Settings” by pressing the A button on your controller.
5. Once you get to the “Settings” menu, first select “System” on the left side and then “Updates” on the right side.
6. If there is a new update available, you will be able to select the top-most option.
How to manually dim or turn off the Xbox Series X and S power button light
In order to manually dim or turn off the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S power button light, you need to do the following:
1. Head into the “Settings” menu.
2. On the left column of the “Settings” menu, select the “Accessibility” option.
3. On the right side of the same screen, select the “Night mode” option.
4. In the “Accessibility – Night mode” menu, select the “Power button brightness” option.
5. In the “Accessibility – Power button brightness” menu, make sure that the box next to “Customize brightness” option has a checkmark, which indicates that the setting is enabled. If it’s not, then simply selected that option to check the box.
6. You should now be able to scroll down to the “Default brightness” option. Here, you can use left analog stick or directional pad to change the brightness level to Off (0%), 50% or Default (100%).
How to manually dim or turn off the Xbox Series X and S power button light via Night Mode
You can also automatically dim or turn off Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S power button light via the new Night Mode.
In order to do so, you need to take the following steps:
1. Go back to the “Settings” menu.
2. Inside “Settings,” first select “Accessibility” from the options available on the far-left side of the screen.
3. On the right side of the same screen, select the “Night mode” option.
4. Inside the “Accessibility – Night mode” menu, select the “Night mode” option.
5. In the drop-down menu, you can select “On” or “Scheduled.”
The “On” option will manually enable Night Mode.
The “Scheduled” option will automatically enable Night Mode based on the time of day.
6. After setting Night Mode to “On” or “Scheduled,” you then need to select the “Power button brightness.”
7. In the “Accessibility – Power button brightness” menu, first make sure that the box next to the “Customize brightness” option has a checkmark inside it. If it doesn’t, then you need to select that option to add a checkmark in order to enable the ability to change the light intensity.
8. Scroll down to the “Night mode brightness” option. Here, you can use either the left analog stick or directional pad to change the brightness level to Off (0%), 50% or Default (100%).
The brightness level of the power button should change when Night Mode is activated for your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S console.
