How to change the language for the YouTube App on PS5

The YouTube App is capable of displaying multiple languages.

If the app is showing a different language that you can’t read, or you would like to change to a different type of language being displayed, then you can take a look at this tutorial to see how you can change it when using the application on your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Digital Edition system.

1. To start off, turn on your PS5 console if you haven’t done so already and then head to the home screen.

2. Next, you need to open the YouTube App.

In order to do so, press the R1 button while you are in the home screen to access the Media tab. From there, you can open the YouTube App.

If you don’t see the video streaming application, then it may not be currently installed on your console. In this case, select the All Apps option from the Media tab. Afterwards, select the YouTube App and then the Download option from the app’s product page. Once it has been downloaded, select the Start option from the same product page.

3. Inside the YouTube App, navigate all the way to the left until you see an elongated menu.

4. In the elongated menu, select the bottom most option, which should have the gear cog icon.

5. You should now be in the Settings menu. From there, you need to select the Language option, which should be underneath the Language & Location section.

If you can’t read the current language on the YouTube App, then this should be the eighth option from the top of the screen. If done correctly, you should see the following clip art appear on the right side of the same screen:

6. Next, select the pencil icon underneath the clip art.

7. Another elongated menu should now show up from the right side of the screen. From there, select the new language that you want the YouTube App to show on your PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console.

It should be noted that it doesn’t matter whether or not you are signed into your YouTube account when making the language change on your PS5. If you decide to switch to a different language, then the change will only apply to the YouTube App on your console.
