I recently got a chance to play through Heroes Battle Awakening on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review code provided by eastasiasoft.
You can find my gameplay video below:
Pros:
- Fun clone of Plants vs. Zombies
- Lots of stages.
Cons:
- Lack of story.
Overall:
Heroes Battle Awakening is a clone of Plants vs. Zombies where you build “towers” to prevent enemies from invading.
In order to do so, you need to pick up coins from the battlefield when they appear. You can then build units that produce more coins.
You also have a wide array of characters to protect your base, from long range attacks to melee fighters. When compared to similar games from the same genre, the enemies have more health, which means that you have to come up with a good combination of troops instead of assigning a singular unit to a row.
The only real drawback to this game is that it lacks personality. The characters do not speak at all and there is no story whatsoever.
If you don’t mind the lack of a plot, then Heroes Battle Awakening is a fun tower defense game, especially if you enjoy Plants vs. Zombies.
