I recently got a chance to play around an hour of Fear The Timeloop on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by TacoEaters and PlayWay S.A.

Fear The Timeloop is a survival-horror game that takes heavy inspirations from Resident Evil 2 Remake.
In addition to an over-the-shoulder third person view, you get to explore a building that has been infested with monsters. Of course, you will constantly run into blocked paths, locked doors, locked lockers, and plenty of puzzles.
What makes this game unique is the time loop feature. As soon as you start a run, a time will start to countdown, giving you 15 minutes to do as much as you can before having to start over from the beginning. You will also restart if you die before time is up.
When starting over, you will lose any items you carry on you but keep the items you stored in a safe. You will also keep any abilities learned as well as any documents you found. So, while a timer adds a lot of tension, dying isn’t really punishing.
Fortunately, you can extend your time by finding med kits. If you manage to find a tape, then you can move onto the next chapter of the game, which means that you start over from the new chapter instead of the old one.
If you don’t like its Roguelike elements, then there is a difficulty option to turn off the time loop feature. There are also other difficulty settings available, whether you simply want to enjoy story or if you want a greater challenge.
Overall, Fear The Timeloop is a rather polished survivor horror game with an interesting Roguelike twist. If you are a fan of Resident Evil, especially Resident Evil 2 Remake, then make sure to check out this new game.
