I recently got a chance to play Fallen City Brawl on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by eastasiasoft.
You can find my platinum trophy walkthrough below:
Trophy Guide and Roadmap:
The trophies in Fallen City Brawl can be unlocked at any difficulty level. My playthrough is done in Easy mode.
To get all the trophies, you need to do the following:
- Activate Riot Mode.
- Activate Riot Super.
- Activate Chaos.
- Defeat 7 Chaos enemies in one playthrough.
- Hold at least 600 coins.
- Achieved 300 chained hits.
While I was able to do all of this in one playthrough, it took a bit of practice and multiple playthroughs.
The general strategy is to activate Riot Mode and Riot Super as early as possible to get them out of the way. Afterwards, avoid using your specials until you can activate Chaos.
Once you are in Chaos, defeated the Chaos enemies, you need to beat seven of them before completing the game.
The trickiest trophies are related to coins and chained hits. In order to build up your chained hits, you need to keep hitting enemies before the “Hit Combo” wording completely shrinks away from the screen.
The Hit Combo will grow big again if you can hit another enemy. It will also grow big when you pick up gems, cash, and coins. This means that you should leave a few of gems, cash, and coins on the ground in case enemies are slowed spawn or slowed to get up from getting knocked down.
I was able to get 300 chained hits and 600 total coins held during the third chapter in the subway in Easy mode while playing as Natasha. If you are having trouble, try increasing the difficulty or changing to a different character.
You can find my mini review of Fallen City Brawl below:
Pros:
- Fun combo-based beat-em-up.
- Unique playable characters.
- Local co-op.
Cons:
- Boss fights can be a little frustrating.
Overall:
Fallen City Brawl is a 2D beat-em-up that is based around building up your combos.
By doing so, enemies will drop gems, which power up your special attacks. If you let your special meter build all the way up, you can activate Chaos Mode, which makes you more powerful by add extra enemies on to the field.
While the extra enemies may seem counter intuitive for a special move, they provide extra bodies to help build up your combos to even greater heights.
This will eventually lead to red coin drops, which not only heals you, but is worth double the value of yellow coins. For every 100 coins of value you get, you get an extra life added.
So, while you can play the game as a normal beat-em-up, taking advantage of the combo meter is the preferred method to get the best scores.
My only real complaint with the game is that some of the boss fights can be frustrating. A lot of them have long range, fast movement, and invincible frames.
Outside of that, Fallen City Brawl is an excellent and unique beat-em-up thanks to its emphasis on building combos. If you are a fan of the genre, then make sure to pick up this can’t miss title.
