Frankenstein: Awakening of Horror on PS5 Pro – Trophy Guide and Mini Review

I recently got a chance to play through Frankenstein: Awakening of Horror on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Witenovastudio OÜ.

You can find my platinum trophy walkthrough below:

Trophy Guide and Road Map:

Hospital:

The hospital has four notes in total, with one being locked behind a safe. Make sure you have a total of 4 notes before you leave.

Manor:

At the manor, move all 15 paintings that can be interacted with to unlock Eyes on the Canvas. Afterwards, solve the clock puzzles to gain access to the only note in the area. Make sure you have a total of 5 notes before talking to the count.

When you pick up the sliver gun for the first time, fire it until you have one ammo left. Afterwards, talk to the doctor so that he will let loose the caged zombie.

Shoot the zombie in the head with your final bullet to unlock A Sliver Lesson and Last Chamber.

Village:

The village is a big open-area with many houses. Make sure you use the map frequently as it marks all the building you have previously visited. It is also a good idea to keep a separate save file for this location in case due to the missables.

The village has 12 notes to discover, one of which is locked behind a safe. You will need to solve the bookshelf puzzle, which also unlocks the Order in the Dust trophy, to get to the note.

The other note is located in the house right after the boss fight. In total, make sure you have 17 notes before leaving the village.

When fighting the zombies in the area, aim for the head whenever possible. Killing 15 enemies with headshots will unlock Anatomy Lesson.

Castle Part 1:

The castle is a massive area with 4 notes.

The first note is story-related and can be found at the cathedral. The next one is located on a bench in the upper gardens that lead directly to the jail cells. The final two are located within the jail cells.

Dungeon:

The dungeon is pretty small and linear. There are 4 notes here.

Before making the long journey to the final area of the game, make sure you have 25 notes in total.

Castle Part 2:

The 26th and final note should be located just before your fight with Katherine.

If you have found all the other castle notes, then you should unlock The Castle Keeps Secrets. If you found all the previous notes, then you should unlock A Mind in Fragments.

Before leaving the Castle and Dungeon for good for the final boss fight, make sure you have all the notes in those areas. If the trophies did not pop, then you missed out on a note somewhere.

You can find my mini review of Frankenstein: Awakening of Horror below:

Pros:

  • Immersive Victorian setting.
  • Diverse level design.
  • Intriguing story.

Cons:

  • Generally unpolished.

Overall:

Frankenstein: Awakening of Horror is a third-person survivor horror shooter. Based on the classic novel, you traverse through several locations in search of Doctor Frankenstein to put an end to his evil experiments.

The areas you visit include a village with many small houses to explore, small dungeon filled with deadly traps, as well as a massive castle area that features many branching paths.

Both the village and castle have been bombarded with snow, creating a rather immersive dread to these locations that really set the mood.

Unfortunately, the game does suffer from some serious technical issues. For one, the frame rate is capped at 30, and the game will become a slideshow for a few seconds when loading a level. A few lines of the dialogues also felt very out of place. Last but not least, some of the boss fights can be exploited via glitches.

Even with the rough edges, Frankenstein: Awakening of Horror is a fun and compelling horror experience. If you are a fan of survivor horror, then make sure to give this game a shot.
