I recently got a chance to play VORON: Raven’s Story for around an hour on the PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a review copy provided by Sometimes You.
You can take a look at my gameplay video below:
You can find my first impressions of VORON: Raven’s Story below:
Pros:
- Beautiful graphics and soundtrack.
- Stamina-based flying.
Cons:
- Technical issues.
Overall:
VORON: Raven’s Story is a game where you play as a raven.
After you leave the starting area, you have to manage your stamina. By completing quests and obstacles, you are able to increase your stamina meter, which allows you to fly further.
During your journey, you will alternate between exploring small open-world areas with more linear dungeons filled with puzzles. In the open-world sections, you can meet wayward souls, some of whom may ask you to complete certain quests before they decide to go with you.
Aside from stamina, you have to pay attention to angles and momentum, especially during obstacle courses and finding hidden tablets. Don’t be surprised if you end up crashing a lot in the beginning.
VORON: Raven’s Story is quite a looker with its simplistic but beautiful graphics. The pleasant soundtrack also sets the mood perfectly, from relaxing to perilous.
The only real issues with the game are technical. The load times when entering a new area can be really long. Although it targets 60 fps, the frame rate often dips.
Outside of the technical issues, VORON: Raven’s Story is a unique adventure game where flying as a bird is the main focus. If that sounds interesting, then make sure you check this game out.
