Shape of Dreams is a roguelike action role-playing game that is a mix between Diablo and Hades.
Like Diablo, you take on enemies from the top-down perspective. To fight, you have a normal attacks to go along with special attacks, which are called Memories. You can only carry a limited number of Memories, so you have to pick which to use and which to trade in.
These special attacks are based on the character you are using. During my playthrough, I was able to try out three characters, which are all quite distinct as you can pick between a gunslinger, sword swinger, and magic user early on.
You can also augment your Memories with Essences to make your specials even more powerful. If you play around with the deep customization options, you should be able to come up with some fun character builds.
Since this is a Roguelike, you will start from the very beginning each time you die. Thankfully, there are permanent upgrades available to improve your stats and unlock other neat stuff that will help your future runs.
In addition to single player, you can also play Shape of Dreams in multiplayer with online co-op support for up to four players.
Overall, Shape of Dreams is a very fun and polished Roguelike. If you are a fan of the genre, then this is a can’t miss title, especially if you are planning to play with others online.
